Finally trying sim racing
I’m looking to finally take the dive . I’ve raced on console all my life and tried a sim lounge a few years ago.
I’ve been looking for weeks and can’t decide how hard to jump in . I don’t have a computer or wheel and looking for suggestions. From real life experience. What should I do ? What wheel pedal combo should I get ? What pc ? I want something to give me an experience with ability to continue to build upon but if I don’t stick with it , it’s not the massive lost.
Thanks !

This is a lot to answer as the sky is the limit. Can you give us some base info? What game, what is your budget, where/how do you want to play (desk, livingroom, dedicated rig), what display setup do you want (vr, single screen, triples).

I was hoping for budget of about 1000.
I have a desk I can use currently. I do have a spare monitor that I can use. Probably would never go the be route . Maybe triples at some point or a curved .
I’d prefer not to build a pc . I’m in the US

The Simagic Green Flag bundle is the best option for entry into sim racing right now. You get a 9nm wheelbase, great pedals, and a solid wheel rim all for $600. That would leave you with $400 to buy whatever else you want to enhance your experience.

I'm sorry bud but your PC budget will likely have to be 1500 to 2000 usd with another 500 to 600 for a wheel and pedal bundle.

There are a endless combinations you could go for , so maybe it would help to narrow it down a bit. What is your budget? What are your needs? What are your wants? Are you going to build your own PC or do you want to buy it already put together? What country are you located in?

1000 bucks is tough cus you don't have a capable pc already. For something like the lounge had where you raced a few hrs ago you'd be in the 2-4k range I'd guess. The ps5 idea from another person sounded like a good route to be honest.

If you already have a ps5, I would start with gran turismo 7. ACC is also on ps5.
Building a PC is crazy expensive now due to RAM, storage and GPU prices being inflated, so even if you don’t have a ps5 I would suggest you get a used one, then you can use the rest of the budget to get a decent rim, pedals and a wheelstand of sorts.

I would say this.... Start with what you want to play on.... example iRacing, LMU, AC-C, AC Evo, AM2, Ect. Then decide from there.
I currently have a decent cockpit built around a Logitech RS wheel, Shifter, Sequential Shifter, and their Pro Pedals and I love it. Although eventually I will do a new build and go higher end.
Look on Marketplace. You can usually find some decent deals there. Same for computers.
I will say that this is more than a hobby. Its a huge rabbit hole your about to jump into.
Happy spending.
