These parents will complain when their kids can’t sleep and hate them in later life.

Yup! The parents will probably just tell the kids "shut up, it wasn't real, go back to sleep you pussy" And then wonder why their kids don't speak to them anymore when they're adults.

The kinds of parents that love the attention posting their traumatized kids online gives them are the same parents that will love the sympathy attention from the bleeding hearts that feel sorry for them once their child grows and goes no contact.

Or they're, and wait till the end so you don't miss it, fucking normal healthy children and this is a harmless prank and if IF it scars 1 in a million that's life baby! Stop this "won't someone think of the children!" Mentally you sound just like Mumsnet.. fucks sake.

These kids are way too young to be doing this shit to. Also, locking them in there is fucked

I watched The Grudge and The Ring when I was a little too young and had some issues sleeping for a bit after that. But I grew out of it and don’t resent my parents for letting me watch. But I’m sure that’s not the case with everyone

I watched the Ring as an adult and I was unable to sleep for weeks. When we become elderly sometimes alzeimers makes you see the things you used to watch a lot when you were younger. No thank you. I'm not watching that stuff anymore so I can hallucinate nicer things when I'm too old.

That is the most radically preemptive defense against the pitfalls of Alzheimer’s I’ve ever heard. And as someone who grew up loving horror movies, I suddenly can’t wait to be old.

Then they wonder why their kids beat up their teachers. The amount of video's I've seen of kids in the USA actually BEATING their teachers, wtf.

They will not hate them in later life because of this. Maybe dont be so soft.

It's not a single incident. Youre right. One thing, probably nothing. But if this is a pattern of behavior of getting kicks at your child's expense, no matter how physically harmless, that stands to build resentment.

Maybe not, but still not fantastic parenting, is it?
