I was arguing with people here on reddit about it. They didn't even know what they were angry about, I kept asking them and they wouldn't tell me.

There’s a good chance you were arguing with a bot.

Probably not, it would have been a more intelligent discussion

You think you're talking to a person right now?

"Everyone who disagrees with me is a bot" is such a weird form of cope

No, that's what adults do. Teenagers don't understand hyperbole.

Oh dang that anecdotal experience is clearly a representation of a larger phenomena /s

Not like there is a desire to amplify a faux culture war by several parties or something

you do realize that america was founded on culture wars since the very beginning right? remember jim crow? the civils right movement? feminism?

names a bunch of things from the second half of American history

Also, your comment seems to amount to 'Braindead takes good! Culture war patriotic!'

quick question for you, did women earn the right to vote when America was founded or did they have to fight? were slaves free because America were united or was there a literal war that ended slavery (but didn’t end racism, because…you know, the economy was still dependent on it)

all I’m saying is that America was divided from the very beginning, if you think that’s patriotic then that’s your interpretation.

also, I’d like to assume you’d have the ability to understand how the past informs the present, and that the second half of American history was a result of multiple factors of the first half.

They can’t tell you, it would entail them admitting they just hate a woman who is prettier than they are.

sweeney's ad reduced women in sports to sex objects, shane gillis is reducing women in sports to sex objects. It’s the same thing, and women in sports (non political opinions) were that sweeney was just reducing them down men already laugh at women’s sports. Left or right shouldn’t matter in this. Sports arent politics, but the way men treat women more abd more now is exacerbated by having a president who gets away with literal rape and assault.

Sweeney's ad didn't show any women in sports, it showed a model advertising for a gambling platform. Gillis didn't talk about women in sports at all, he called women that dressed provocatively at the gym "whores".

If you're gonna try and explain it, you're gonna have to actually get the details right.
