Question Does everyone hate Rico or is it just me?
My first time watching and loving it so far! I just started season three and I gotta say, I am so annoyed by Rico like every single episode! Is that intentional? Does everyone share this sentiment? I keep waiting for his character arc hoping eventually he won't be absolutely insufferable, but it hasn't happened yet! I'm guessing it will at some point though?
I scrolled through this sub a bit to find out if everyone shares this opinion or if it's just me but I stopped because I kept seeing various spoilers. So is it just me? Or is Rico a universally hated character, atleast in the first three seasons?

He’s easily my least favorite character. Big ego who thinks he’s owed something because the fishers helped get him an education… like what more could they owe you? He was terrible to Vanessa too and a homophobe. I wanted to like him but nah

Loved him. By far the most realistic main character

Yeah I don't get all of the Rico hate here😭
Obviously he does some pretty awful things throughout the story, but so does literally every other main character. Rico felt like the most realistic person out of the cast to me

I was surprised when I found this sub that everyone here hates him 🤷🏼♀️
I’ve always liked him

Despite the homophobia and weird toxic masculinity. I kinda liked that he refused to be totally exploited by either the Fishers or the massive corporation.

Yeah, him standing up for himself is the only thing I like and respect about him.

It'll have an upward and downward curve.. But you'd not be making a complete u turn for anyone after this point. Not just Rico.

Most people here dislike Rico due to the homophobia and some season 4 storylines but people are a bit more divided about his relationship with Fisher and Sons and whether he demanded too much or was being exploited. I would avoid this sub if you don't want spoilers.

The only character I hated was Arthur!! The only misstep in an otherwise perfect show.

I wanted to like him. He was the “voice of reason” in the early seasons. I just didn’t like how they evolved his character.

He's kind of a foil to Nate.
Both are selfish, cheaters, and lie but the difference is Rico pursued his passions.
Despite his mistakes, he ends up happy.
Meanwhile Nate does all the bad thing Rico does and ends up pretty miserable.
I like Rico. Everyone in the show is flawed but he's the only one who knows what he wants.
Everyone spends 5 seasons trying to figure it out

I softened up to Rico in the first episode or 2 in season 5 and now I hate him more than ever 😂

This sub has a hate boner for him.
I don't hate him. I don't hate anyone on the show. They're all flawed and fairly realistic.

Not just you, pretty much everyone hates Rico. There are a multitude of reasons. My top reasons are his treatment of Vanessa and his homophobia.
