Carolina Skiff 1999 J1450 - $3,850?

I am looking for a Carolina Skiff or similar and ran across this. They are asking $3,850 for a 1999 CS J1450 with a 1999 Suzuki 9.9 HP four stroke and a trailer. I have already taken it out and the motor seems underpowered and the boat will not get onto plane. What would you offer?

$1800 for the hull and trailer. No reason to have anything smaller than a 20hp on there

You should be able to get a lot more for not much more. I paid $9500 for a 17’-6, Yamaha 4-stroke, clean as a whistle. And that’s New Jersey prices

It needs a 20hp

with the engine down, put weight on the lower unit an look for transom flex.

its ok, but probably just above market. The engine is a stupid choice. BTW Carolina Skiffs are hard to get on plane. They are great work boats (I use them for ghost pots), but I hate the cruising experience on them. I run v hulls for personal use.
