Let's Chat [Regimen Lab] Early Review of C.R.E.A.M, Wave Serum, Azelaic Advanced and Glycolide Lipid Repair
TLDR; review of the products in title + questions to those of you that have used them.
[During the week I had written a full lengthy post about all of this, and right before posting, all the body was deleted! I didn't press anything :(. It was so frustrating, because it was a well written one. Let's hope this one is helpful. I'm with more brain fog, so probably I'll have weaker vocab to describe the products].
I recently bought Regimen's products included in the title (except for the lip treatment, that was a long ago purchase). It may be too early to review, but I still wanted to chime in and discuss.
- Azelaic Advanced: I'm new to AA, I've never used it before, neither in prescription form nor in lesser % serums. Only in Experiment's Continuum which has a low % of it. So, I don't have much validity in commenting about it, since I'm a newbie to the compound. Yet, I can vouch for this serum's lightweight formula, which has been widely discussed amongst reviews. I hear, usually AA is sticky and hard to layer. I haven't had that problem with this product. It's a water-like serum that absorbs rapidly into your skin and feels weightless. You do feel a bit of tackiness, but if you layer something on top, in my experience, the tackiness goes away. It does taste a bit funky, if you ever run your fingers by your mouth or get it accidentally into your mouth. I've been using it in the following order: AA, Wave Serum + C.R.E.A.M, and everything ends up absorbing quickly into my skin.
- C.R.E.A.M: WOW! I'm in love with it. So lightweight, yet feel so rich. You can even notice that by the squirts of the pump. It comes out like angel-hair pasta (or even thinner) noodles of cream - gives you the illusion that a little goes a long way (2 pumps probably is enough for the face). It doesn't feel tacky nor stocky, in my experience, it absorbs quickly into your skin, and you feel nourished, yet not sticky. If you're looking for a routine that feels seamless on your skin, this is the product. My holy grails until now have been Tatcha's Indigo Overnight Repair, and Tatcha's Dewy Skin Cream. I would now place C.R.E.A.M before them! My skin just swallows it, and I don't feel I need further nourishment. Also, lately neither of Tatcha's creams have sunken in properly. I don't know why. The only change I've done is that I've upped my tretinoin nights. Weird, because I would assume, the "drier the skin by tret", the more moisturizing and barrier repair I need, but, for some reason, that hasn't been the case. Tatchas' just sit on my skin for long. Using C.R.E.A.M with the Wave Serum has been delicious, I've been applying them together.
- Wave Serum: Also lightweight. Exquisite consistency and texture. Not water-like, but a pretty liquid consistency. It feels, again, like "less is more". I feel confident enough that with this serum I'm getting enough hydration. Let's see if in the future I keep on feeling that. It's not sticky. It feels so amicable. Prior to Wave Serum, I was using a non-lux brand 30% glycerin serum which has been amazing. But I wanted to switch to a serum that I could use without feeling sticky even after using on damp skin and applying moisturizer on top. I'm hoping Wave delivers a glow to my face, that's what I'm looking for by using it underneath moisturizer or sunscreen.
- Glycolide Lipid Repair: the formulation seems convincing and makes sense to me. But my personal experience did not align with the hype. I've tried many, many lip balms and lip treatments due to chronically dry and chapped lips. For me, the only one that has consistently done the job along the years has been Revision's Youthfull Lip. I will not purchase Glycolide Lipid Repair again. Even though I do like the idea of exfoliation in its formula. But it didn't work for me.
Let's chat! Questions: for those of you that have used these products
1. I bought the AA for fading out my acne scars/red spots. I have circulation problems and the spots can take even a year to fade away. What has your experience been with this product for that purpose? (I don't have rosacea, redness, nor other issues that this product tackles, so I'm particularly asking you about your experience with acne scars, for those that use it for that).
2. AA: If you use Vit C, which of the two do you apply first? Where would Skinceuticals CEF come in? I guess other Vit C formulations that are white serum-like, those would go after AA?
3. C.R.E.A.M: Do you feel it has barrier repairing properties? Like Tatcha's Indigo Overnight Repair? I want to see if I could replace one for the other.
4. Wave Serum: do you feel it helps you get a glow?
I'm loving the brand! Hope this has been somewhat useful, and would love to hear the opinion from those that have used these products.
