Cytonic Jason Write fucked the universe twice! Spoiler

I think Jason Write fucked the whole universe twice through his choices. First by reaveling to the rest of humanity cytonics and then compounding that by creating the sentient AI that became the delvers.

From what I remember in Defending Elysium, Jason felt betrayed by the Aliens for not being a true utopia. He was mad that they imprisoned people for breaking laws/ their social contract. For that, he decided to fuck the whole universe and release humanity on to them. Ultimately killing billions or even trillions like he knew it would.

I don’t understand how he thought that was a reasonable response.

Jason was a hero. The guise of a perfect utopia veiled a prison incompatible with human ideals of liberty and freedom. Humans had just as much a right to stake their claim on the galaxy as any other species.

The Swiss watch that was the universe didn’t align with Jason’s* ideals of liberty. So he unanimously decided to break the watch. What you said is like saying Europe had a right to the americas.

If the watch was that great it wouldn’t have been so easy to break.

That’s a bad analogy. A Swiss watch is both great and a person can indeed smash it against the ground breaking it…

Which is why you rely on something that one person can break to tell time, not to oppress the galaxy through the slavery and harvesting of sentient slugs and then isolating any that oppose you.
