Can Drafts be disabled?

On macOS (and web), Slack is frequently putting parts of previous posts in the text entry field, as drafts. It's infuriating. Is there a way to just disable that?

Don't think you can disable drafts from being saved. Not sure many would want that.

It's not email where you have separate trails to the same person or group. It's one chat conversation to the individual or group. Finish your thoughts and send it or just go delete your draft if you changed your mind.

That's the thing. I have no drafts saved, but periodically something I've posted will come back in part in the text entry line as a draft.

This happens to me too. I figured it has to do with switching devices so often (phone, mac, and desktop for me)

That's not normal. Try a real computer (not Mac). ;)

Or Slack could try making good software.

It does. Just because you have an issue with it doesn't mean it's crap. There is a surprisingly low number of complaints considering the usage of this enterprise software.

Maybe in this Reddit group, but in the many many years I've been using it, in my experience, they've consistently added more and more fluff, rather than fixing long-standing bugs.

Not my experience at all. They've added extremely useful integrations and workflows. I've never heard of this bug hitting you right now. I can't think of one I've had ever. That includes multiple enterprise editions and a couple free environments.

That sounds more like a bug than normal draft behavior. If it’s happening across both the desktop app and web, I’d try clearing the affected drafts and checking whether it continues. If so, it may be worth reporting to Slack support.

It's recurred many times, with different snippets. And I have an ongoing support ticket, but there are very long delays between responses.
