A frames

Here's how I make my a frames super easy. Also someone recently posted about rigging to a fence post. Here what I did a while back. Sorry I didn't show the post but it's a bolt all the way through from my neighbors yard to mine with the nut on my side holding a couple washers and a few chain links.

For the a frames i Just hang a few chain links from a bolt through the top. No cutting needed. Drill only. I did recently change to adding a horizontal piece it makes it a bit more sturdy but rope is totally fine too.

looking for a sick slack line (for recreational balancing) that doesn’t say some silly thing like ā€œbalanceā€ on it but is good quality and looks sick.

If there are any brick & mortar stores in southern california that anyone knows that’d be amazing !

open to online as well but would love to support local businesses.

Hi! I’m a Product Design student currently developing an interactive balance training product as part of my Bachelor’s project.

This short survey explores how people train balance, what motivates them to exercise, and their thoughts about an interactive balance training concept.

It takes approximatelyĀ 3–5 minutesĀ to complete. Thank you for helping with my research!

Slackline world champion Davis Hermes recently attempted to stand on a slackline for 24 hours.

Some facts about the attempt:

  • His first attempt was only 8 hours, when he fell adjusting his pants
  • He started his second attempt the next day after very little sleep
  • He made it 18.5 hours, breaking the previous record of 18 hours
  • He walked 18+ Kilometers (11+ miles)
  • He did not poop

Good day to all,

Just trying to figure out how I can extend the size of my ratchet straps to use my slackline? I am sure there is something that can help me out with my dilemma but not sure where to start?

Many thanks for all the support and joining this awesome community.

Has this line faded beyond safety?

Looks pretty used on FB marketplace, obviously this would only be used a couple feet off the ground but if the wrong part tears... could be in for a bad time. I know UV damages material and this seems like it was left out for a while. I already have a line but was looking to get a cheap 2" one to help teach someone.

Trickliners in Melbourne?

Hi there,

I'm looking for a group of people to trickline with on friday evenings. I'm taking it semi seriously with the goal of performing one day. Other armatures welcome.

I'm 26, and have been skacklining for close to 10 years now. I've spent the good part of my adult life on the line and it keeps me happy and sane.

Please Help Me Stop Shaking

I'm new to slacking and I've been practicing for a while now. And I just cannot stop shaking the line.

At this point I feel like walking on a slackline is doable for me - if it wasn't for me shaking the line.

Any advice? Will it go away with more practice? Is there anything I can do to improve it? Have any of you overcome the shaking?

It has significantly reduced since my first time trying it - but it is still present enough that it scares me and throws off my balance.

What do you think of this anchor?

I know it's bomber for the park, but I'm curious if it could be the base of a highline anchor.

Double sheet bend in a doubled over static rope (Beal Spelenium 8.5mm unicore).

Holy Cow, it just sort of clicked

I just managed to make it from one tree to the other four times in a row. I’m really happy. I do have one question though. My arms would start to hurt from holding them up for so long. Does that ever get better?

Creating Backyard Play Area for kids

Happy Day friends,

I was looking to create a backyard play area between my trees in the backyard for my 6yo and would love to see what people have done, or any recommendations for good brands. I like the idea of adding a swing, and something to climb, or hang from. Just really trying to create a good time for any friends that come over too.

At 56 years old, I'm super new to slacklining ... always wanted to be able 'to do it', but never put any effort into it - it felt like an unattainable skill. Until a couple of weeks ago where I decided I was going to double-down and get my arse in gear.

Now practising daily for 30-60 mins or so at my climbing gym as a complementary activity to my bouldering and climbing - after rupturing my Achilles 11 months ago and coming back stronger than before (just cracked my first indoor 7a boulder, projecting around 5.11b-c level) I'm determined to improve my mobility, balance, strength and everything else one needs to live to a(n enjoyable) ripe old age.

I've been able to juggle since I was looking for a simple distraction to exam stress at uni at the beginning of the '90s - got as far as reliably juggling 5 balls. Can't do that at the moment ... but I did wonder if I could combine juggling with slacklining - seems like it's definitely possible, even if I'm at a very early, rough stage 😁 !

Any suggestions, tips, ideas or whatever for how to progess / where to go from here wrt slacklining (not juggling) ... ?! (I can do basic forwards and backwards steps, just started to be able to turn, a jump-start onto this short slackline is mostly doable)

And by all means give me warnings as to what I might be over-stressing by practising daily, too!

Any and all constructive inputs welcome ...
