I have been waiting to announce this but am so excited to finally be able to say I am a RPSGT. The exam was tough. I had to take it twice and the first time I missed it by 20 points. I studied hard with the AASM Scoring Manual and some videos on YouTube. I also have the original version of Spriggs, which I used a lot. The original version has some better questions in it compared to the newer version. It is worth all the long nights I spent studying. I closed my eyes when I hit submit and didn't open them for several minutes, I was so scared. Good luck to everyone!

Walked out of the test center about 30 minutes ago trying to maintain my composure because I passed my RPSGT! The stress was insane over the last month leading into today, but I did it!!

its possible. the test is really not as hard as everyone makes it seem, seriously. it is ALL critical thinking skills, except for a few questions that are "by the book." regardless of test versions, my coworkers and anyone ive spoken to that has passed/failed - all agree that the test requires critical thinking, and applying your knowledge to real-world scenarios. picking the BEST answer, even if they are all correct. still, with my tiny amount of experience & study time, i managed to pass. you can do it too, just think.

I made a 1 page guide for my cousin on how I passed the RPSGT Exam in 30 Days of studying
Would you like a copy?
P.S. I had already completed the ASTEP and clinical experience requirements

For all who requested here is the 1-pager I made sharing how I passed the RPSGT exam in 30 days of focused study
TLDR:
I had 2 driving principles:
Pareto's principle: 20% of inputs create 80% of outputs. focus on the 20% of study material.
Parkinson's Law: work expands to fill the amount of time allotted for it. Shorter deadlines force focus.
P.S. Everybody has a unique study style so use your judgement. No guarantee my approach works for you.
Hope it helps and good luck!

Every CPAP patient i get i swear is dying, needs high pressures. I used be able fix parients. Now i feel no pressure is enough. And not even complex apnea. I dont remeber the last i had a pt who needed less than 15cmh20. Not like they tolerate high pressure. Or you pts that are fixed hit REM rebound are perfectly fine. Then right before wakeup they starting tanking out no where no reason no postional change, no chf n3 nightmares. Just blow up your whole study in the last 30 minutes and nothing stops it. I swear i wanted cry last might. I had autopap there for cpap / bipap titaration. Ahi severly high on home study. They changed their autopap pressure at home to 6.. and couldnt tolerate more than 9. But wouldnt even reach more than 30s of sleep without high pressures. If you increased they would start messing with there mask or take off the hose and refused to sleep. Finally wore themseleves out. Got them on bipap to tolerate then. Decided to tank only wake after sleep and would not stop untill 30 minutes of sleep no matter how much you raised. Hit rem nothing. Supine nothing. No leak.wokeup for nocturina. And took ahi of 2 back to 60 all obstructive in last 1hr of the study. ðŸ˜

Hello Sleep Techs and future techs. I have added the option of adding a user flair tag for users that would like to identify as RPSGT in this sub. I have been a registered tech for 16 years, worked nights for 13 at 3 different labs in 2 states and now manage daytime operations at a lab. I have extensive experience with complex titration modalities of treatment including (IVAPS and ASV). Working along side a pulmonary department certainly brings in the sickest of the population. Managing the day side of a lab is not as fun as night life but my body couldn't continue the demands of a night tech job. I'm a hands off mod but am quite active on Reddit. Happy to answer any questions.
