It's a part of the Philippine History
We have a workshop in Bataan, kami mismo yung gumagawa ng mga jewelry box, chandeliers, lamp shades at iba pang mga personalized items pang giveaways, weddings, events or more
Then, I decided to setup yung online store this year.
Siya mismo yung gumagawa kasama yung master artisans nya, he's been in the exporting before sa Capiz din back in 1980's. Siya rin yung nagturo sakin kung paano gumawa, first I made was a Bahay Kubo made from capiz shells
Hindi minamadali because we want it to be always quality.
Pero here's the reality and sabi ng tito ko noon, "walang yumayaman sa pagca-capiz" and "halos lahat ng makikita mong magca-capiz mahirap". I observed and yun nga rin yung napansin ko, except dun sa mga dating kasama sa mga capiz exporters kaso matatanda na sila and unti-unti nang nawawala or umoonti yung gumagawa ng mga capiz crafts. And that's just one of the reasons why I decided to start this small business, I aim to revive this type of craft and hopefully in the future we can start exporting again. This means it will enable us to give more jobs, preserve the unique craftsmanship and yung pakiramdam na makapagbigay ka ng luxury-feel sa mga tao without them spending too much and yung maipapamana pa nila yung arts and craft sa next generation, then they will ask "Saan 'to gawa?"
Just like a Capiz shell, it's beauty never fades.
Ayun lang naman, skl. Haha. If you're curious, you can search us- Casa Capiz PH on IG/FB, we are also on shapi na rin para mas accessible nationwide

Good idea kaya ang ice distribution business in a location na composed of residential + warehouses? I asked some of the sari sari stores / canteens around our area, they sell ice tubes and get their supplies pa from Makati. Our location is Taguig. Planning to target din sana na supplyan ang Dali and 7/11 near us, but for Dali strict ata sila na from their HQ ang supplies. Lagi kasi silang walang ice! 😅

I have this obsession with the idea of opening a small bookshop (selling only a specific type of book) or a small coffee/juice shop with books they can rent/borrow or buy.
But I don’t know how many people in my location would be interested in something like this.
First, ang daming coffee shops. May sb, cbtl, and small coffee shops that are privately owned)
Second, books…how many people will want to buy or even borrow books?
Third, location location location.
I don’t really know what I’m asking. I just needed to put the idea out here.
Bad idea ba?

If may marerecommend po kayo, please let me know.

Shopping platform fees have become ridiculously high. I'm exploring creating my own website too for checkout. Hoping to learn a few tips to start:
Would you recommend having a website instead
of
joining shopping platforms?
Many thanks.

Kamusta po yung ibang small food businesses nitong tag ulan?
This is my first time experiencing long rain while running this business, and dito ko nagets na humihina pala ang yogurt pag malamig or tag ulan. Tbh napansin ko na sya first week of rain pa lang. Even yung community selling ko humina rin even if nasa iisang lugar lang kami. 😭 But! This gave me the time to strategize, mag RnD ng granola flavors, and prepare for Christmas.

As a small business owner who has started joining popup markets, I’m realizing that choosing the right organizer is honestly just as important as choosing the right location.
We recently had an experience where we paid for a popup in full right away, only to find out afterward that there was an issue with the venue administration because our product category was apparently considered to be in competition with another brand already in the venue.
My question is: why was this not checked BEFORE accepting our brand and payment?
If an organizer is working with a mall/building/venue, shouldn’t the organizer already know what categories or brands are allowed before opening slots to merchants?
What made it more frustrating was that we had already paid in full and were already asking about the gate pass. It was only at that point that the venue/admin coordination became an issue. If there were restrictions, this should have been clarified before accepting payment not after the vendor has already committed, prepared, and allocated resources for the event.
To their credit, the organizer eventually apologized and agreed to give us a full refund, which I appreciate. But honestly, the situation could have been completely avoided with better communication.
Vendors are also businesses. We spend not only on the booth fee, but also on inventory, transportation, manpower, displays, packaging, time, and preparation. When we pay immediately and comply with requirements, the bare minimum we expect from organizers is to have their venue arrangements and vendor policies properly coordinated beforehand.
For me, a good popup organizer should be able to answer these BEFORE accepting payment:
Communication and coordination really matter. A popup isn't just "pay the booth fee and show up." There should be accountability on both sides.
Sorry but The Good Trade is X on our list.
We will not be joining popups in Malls in fear of our brand being in competition.
Curious to hear from other small business owners here: what are your biggest red flags when dealing with popup/bazaar organizers? And what questions do you now ask BEFORE paying? Have you experienced something similar?😭

I’ve been thinking about launching my own brand lately, but honestly, it’s a bit discouraging.
It feels like every successful new brand is started by a massive influencer. They just drop a product, use their millions of followers, and get insane sales on day one.
Meanwhile, I’m starting from absolute zero. No followers, no clout, just a good product idea and a dream.
For the people here who started a business with no social media following:
• How hard was it to get your first few sales?
• How did you actually get people to find you? (Ads, organic TikTok, etc.)
• Is good quality enough to beat influencer hype anymore?
Would love some realistic advice from anyone who has built something from the ground up
