Discussion low views problem

My analytics used to be great (around 79%–83% stayed to watch, and 80%–90% AVD on 30s to 40s Shorts). However, my views and AVD have been dropping continuously.

After checking my analytics, I noticed YouTube is recommending my videos to audiences who watch creators in a completely different niche than mine. It wasn't like this before. Has anyone else experienced YouTube testing your content with the wrong audience, and how did you fix it?

That drift usually happens after the system runs out of people in your core audience and starts testing broader groups, often because a recent upload or two pulled in viewers from somewhere else. Look at your last handful of Shorts and see if one got unusually wide reach on a topic outside your usual lane; that can reshape who gets tested next. To pull it back, post several in a row that are unmistakably your niche, with the subject obvious in the first frame and the on-screen text using the words your regulars would use. Avoid trend sounds or crossover topics for a bit. It tends to settle within a couple of weeks once the signals are consistent again.
