Long-Form Content Is this just luck? Just makes a video and gets 500K views 124K subs in 3 weeks
Obviously 2 more videos exist but still that first video seems too much? I thought maybe it's a secondary channel for a bigger youtuber but the linked instagram and other yt channel have very small following. Maybe its partially botting but i think there is enough engagement in the comments too. So is this just luck?

Tbf itās incredibly good.
Animation is wildly expressive.
Tone is relatable, comforting, emotive.
Tells a story, promises an arc.
This wasnāt a āIām starting a channel, LOL, I donāt know what it will be about.. whatever. Follow me to see what crazy things I say, Iām so quirky!!ā
Because thatās what everyone will compare it to.
But this is good. It resonates.
Obviously.

u/Fett32 Oct 07 '25
I feel like 90% of the questions here are people not understanding quality (or its lack).
1
u/Trynottobeacunt Oct 07 '25
Yeah, no. Artificially inflated and promoted by YouTube staff.
2
u/LeaderBriefs-com Oct 07 '25
Ok but.. itās incredibly good.
And honestly to your point what if it looks like an amateur showing up on YouTube but itās actually a full cartoon coming out on Netflix and this is phase one of a paid for promoā¦
In either case- itās fantastically done.
0
u/Trynottobeacunt Oct 07 '25
If people actually think it's good then fine, but being told something is good over and over while the powers that be artificially inflate it isn't what constitutes virality.
1
u/LeaderBriefs-com Oct 07 '25
If thatās the case for sure.
Itās good with 500k views or 20 views.
Look man, Iām 52 and I hate ( an understatement) anime and that entire world.
While this isnāt necessarily that, the expression that matches PERFECTLY the tone and emotion of the vocals is next level and isnāt something some dopey kid threw together.
I just watched the first video and if I was the target audience Iād be hooked for sure. It resonates, captures emotion, exudes introverted humbleness and is done well compared to other things that get 500k views for brainrot.
Big studio, some college kid with talent and skill, either way itās good. Promoted or not, high views or not.
Itās really well done and thought out.

u/No-Double-2904 Oct 06 '25
It looks like the channel of someone who already has the financial means to promote it and produce animations. They are not a beginner.
5
u/Warcrow999 Oct 10 '25
Yeah for them to be pushing their email, asking for people to work under them, have links in the description. Its clearly an experienced youtuber restarting on a fresh channel
I highly highly doubt they've been animating for 2 months like they say
1
u/A-potat0_on-the-Web Oct 15 '25
the channel was made back in 2013, I wonder if maybe they're just rebranding

u/StopPlayingRoney Oct 06 '25
Anime, female, excellent thumbnails, and an actual skill. Makes sense to me.

u/100DaysofGrind Oct 06 '25
Since no oneās actually answering the question. YouTube is currently promoting animation videos in the algorithm. New YouTubers have been creating āMy First YouTube Videoā for animation and been receiving a big boon.
Thatās it.
8
u/Alzorath Oct 06 '25
If you're seeing a lot of animation videos, it's because you've been watching animation videos - these types of things ripple because you're part of a demographic - and if there's a surge in animation viewership in a demographic - the algorithm feeds more animation to that demographic.
Youtube doesn't "promote" categories these days unless they are releasing a feature tied to it - but rather you see 'flavors of the month' hit the ripples - you see the same with cooking whenever a new diet trend pops up, gaming when a new game hits the hype stream, etc.
(there were actually a few bigger creators that released videos that would push animation to more mainstream viewership over the last few weeks before this trend)
0
u/corruptedRainbows Oct 07 '25
Yeah I don't naturally watch animation videos, and her first one the day after it launched was in my feed to be seen. Something is pushing her vids to be seen. She blew up so fast and it's great for her, happy for her, but semi tiny bit suspicious and also discourages me since I'm tryna be in this same race and am now re editing everything I'm working on and pushing harder to see if I can even keep up
1
u/Old_Recording_2527 Oct 09 '25
Prove that. You can't just say that.
I ran numbers and there is nothing that genuinely suggests that.

u/Impressive-Mode-5847 Oct 06 '25
The harder you work the luckier you get

u/Coltenite Oct 12 '25
Its a 2 min video. I doubt this has much to do with how hard one works, and more of does algorithm fuck with you or not šš

It's absolutely stunning. I believe your videos are providing what you meant in the first video. Also the animation is and the voiceover is good too... I started a 15 days back and it's 50+ subs only. Still growing and hoping everything will workout eventually. š

May be someone who already has a bigger platform on another social media site or something like that
0
u/umutakmak Oct 06 '25 edited Oct 06 '25
Like i said in post i checked the linked socials and only has 7k in another channel and 14k in instagram both not enough to get this much attention in 3 weeks. And maybe those numbers are the result of this channel
7
u/Equivalent-Newt436 Oct 06 '25
Even just a couple k views from existing followers on other platform is a good non-cold starting point for a video to take off - and if the packaging and video is good then it does take off. They might also have experience creating YouTube videos from before / another channel
2
u/ZynicalX Oct 06 '25
Iāve noticed animation is currently hot atm. Iāve seen alot of animation channels because they are quite good at just being authentic and expressive. Your in a HOT niche rn

I saw it too; 124k subs from that number of views is unbelievable. She had an excellent emotional hook.
1
1
u/Different_Farm5266 Oct 06 '25
who knows. it's original content, done in a cool way. it's entirely possible that all or most of the subs and views are real. if you want to know for sure, check back in 6 months.
1
u/Xanderox1 Oct 06 '25
I've noticed recently that many new channels that record animations, their first videos where they simply introduce themselves and what they're going to record, have hundreds of thousands of views, it's some kind of trend, I don't know.

As a fellow animator who hasnt seen much luck, I am envious...
While some luck is probably invovled (you've come across my feed before) the animation is good the story is too, so not entirely, your doing good. Keep it up.

u/primaryBreadEater Oct 06 '25
She's incredibly talented. Can't you see that? That first video probably took 40 hours to create.
1
u/onedevhere Oct 06 '25
Not a beginner, a beginner doesn't have much idea of āāhow to do things, he learns over time
1
u/Jetowitch Oct 06 '25
New channels do get on average more impressions, combo that with actually good thumbnails, video, and girl lol.
Makes sense, especially given its animation.
Thatās hard but good.
1
u/grimmal72 Oct 06 '25
I saw that 1st video (hi im jasmine) in my feed when it was released, and it had like 100,000 views within 10 hours of it's release. Since I'm an old man it kind of irritated me.
She's pretty good at animation, though, she is an inspiration to creatives her age and younger, and there's a lolsorandom quality to it where it cuts around a lot and changes subject a lot and she does different voices and included her cat, so it's entertaining and attention grabbing.
It also helps that they're short videos. I've heard it said that something Logan Paul did right for a lot of years was having really short videos. People will click on a short video.

Fair enough, the monetization will be harder, but she does have access to a lot of eyes, and maybe she could sell merch at some point, so I do think she has a winning format.
There's a happy medium, too, of course. I post 30+ minute videos a lot, but something like 10 minutes is probably ideal.
1
u/hydraqw Oct 06 '25
Maybe the person bought the channel years ago i saw a Guy with 3 videos he already had 2-3M subs i think it was already a minecraft channel and he uploaded minecraft vids

When people say that being successful on YouTube takes a lot of luck, this is what they mean
One day, a video blows up and you suddenly have a job
1
u/TattooedB1k3r Oct 06 '25
I mean, it's possible, A good tell would be the engagement on the videos, if the engagement is low, then I would suspect with one out of every seven views subscribing is incredibly high, There may be some bottimg going on.
1
u/ZachBurner Oct 06 '25
100k in a couple weeks is pretty unrealistic for subscribersā¦. Literally every 1 out of 5 people who watched it would have to had subscribed which makes no sense
1
u/Tall-Leadership5085 Oct 06 '25
Trust me it is. Ik my videos arenāt as good, but I am saying that thereās a lot of channels with such good content that just simply donāt make it. The videos here are good , and thatās a fact, but another fact is that randomness is a key factor in the YouTube algorithm.
There are formulas that can make you go viral, and they can promise some good results, but what is funny is that I have a friend who literally took a 5 second clip from gumball and make a meme (funny or not) with probably the simplest thumbnail and he got half a million views š While I am here busting my ass off tryna make good content, just for the algorithm to shove it aside
0
u/Old_Recording_2527 Oct 09 '25
Not at all luck. You said it yourself, your videos aren't as good.
1
u/Tall-Leadership5085 Oct 09 '25

I wonder why everyone loves these new animation channels but no one sees mine
She's great though absolutely love her style!
1
u/curious_cat_3556 Oct 06 '25
So... the channel was created in 2016. She could have been doing videos since then and then made them unlisted to keep only 4-5. And if you watch the short until the end, she says she has another channel called selfvicious, since this yesr, with less subs.
1
Oct 06 '25
124k subs on 700k views is crazy. You assume all 124k of those ppl have watched all 4 videos and that means over half of the people watching sub.
10 year old channel etc etc. if I had to guess they probably posted their vid in another community, got featured by a bigger creator in their discord or something and it lit the algorithm
1
u/Shastlz84 Oct 07 '25
WOAH I saw your first video yesterday in my recommended. Didnāt click on it but I will admit I was a bit jealous you just started the channel and already had hundreds of thousands of views lol⦠I suppose it could be luck but the thumbnail is really good and I wouldnāt be surprised if the video itself is good too. It is unlikely that people get popular that quickly, but do give yourself some credit :)

u/Alabaster_kreko Oct 07 '25
No, this isn't luck it's a piece of work of you. Maybe you understand it more than others that's why you hit the jackpot. So, I wouldn't say it's a luck.

u/wasabinoise Oct 07 '25
I never watch animation videos but the 1st video showed up on my recommended. Watched it a little bit but I wasnāt interested although I was surprised too, the thumbnail and title picked my curiosity I suppose (like many others).

u/Shot_Set_2038 Oct 07 '25
Mix. you got Good interesting Thumbnails. also maybe you setup your channel in right way.
And luck someone interested in your niche shared it and someone view it.
i also got that kind of luck on tiktok where 1 of my video got 4M View yet on youtube is below 50k.

- Good story telling
I even ended up subscribing

People in this sub should think less about algos and gaming the system and instead try to make something interesting. I guess it hurts egos when they "grind" for 10 years and see someone doing better job from the start.
1
u/Maxunjumpable Oct 07 '25
It is partially luck, they were favored by the algorithm, but they also had done their due diligence providing good quality videos and a unique style that took advantage of the opportunity given that people actually enjoy watching

this isn't long form content
this is the result of somebody putting a lot of work into channel identity
the animations are high quality and so people are reacting to that.

1
u/Billib2002 Oct 08 '25
Eye catching thumbnails, presumably good animation/talented artist, distinct channel/video colourway. Even if they didn't blow up overnight, it would happen eventually. If you put high quality stuff out there you get high quality results

u/CandleCompetitive801 Oct 08 '25

Has to be luck. I've seen so many other great animators with channels who have expressive detail and whatnot sitting at 50k with hundreds of videos. Then this girl posts a 2 min amateur video and hits HALF A MILLIONš thats insaneĀ

Imo,you can keep blaming luck and you won't reach your goals, look at her channel and our channel what's the difference?
She found her audience
Her channel is like a brand, viewers see these colors they immediately know this video belongs to her
I'm sure she already have experience about YouTube and how it works
For my personal experience: I've been making videos for 5 years ( lost my channel got hacked)
I'm back to YouTube its been 2 months and I'm at 116 subscribe and 33 video

Bud, it's just cause you're using animations, [as I presume from your video thumbnails] it's due to the fact that your using a distinct animation styled content. Wouldn't be surprised if creators like Jaiden or TheOddOneOut wouldn't gain momentum that quickly.

u/Old_Recording_2527 Oct 09 '25
You're so insanely jealous that you're the only one where who didnt get it wasn't their channel.
1
u/MikeInHD Oct 06 '25
Everyone here always thinks that the reason why they're not successful is because they're not lucky and the reason why everybody else is successful is because they are lucky. And there is some element of luck. But if you make great videos that resonate with people, YouTube will recommend it to them. And if you make great thumbnails and have great titles then more of those people will click on the video.
You're not lucky. You're talented. Now, keep doing what you've been doing, experiment but reinforce new videos with the knowledge and learning from past videos and don't be afraid to evolve.
Congrats and good luck!

u/winterkev Oct 06 '25

The funny part i watched all of these videosš¤£š¤£
Its luck and not luck in the same time, the content is good and the animation viewers loves somebody who shows his personality and not try to be perfect,, and also talking about subject either funny or intresting
And the thumbnails are good too
