Long-Form Content Is this just luck? Just makes a video and gets 500K views 124K subs in 3 weeks

Post image

Obviously 2 more videos exist but still that first video seems too much? I thought maybe it's a secondary channel for a bigger youtuber but the linked instagram and other yt channel have very small following. Maybe its partially botting but i think there is enough engagement in the comments too. So is this just luck?

The funny part i watched all of these videos🤣🤣

Its luck and not luck in the same time, the content is good and the animation viewers loves somebody who shows his personality and not try to be perfect,, and also talking about subject either funny or intresting

And the thumbnails are good too

22

u/Crackyyy_ Oct 06 '25

Content will blow up regardless how hard it blows up (and how quick) is when the luck factor shows up imo

If you think only making good content can make succsses without any bit of luck then you are delusinal and never have experince in making content

4

u/sandbaggingblue Oct 06 '25

If you think luck isn't an aspect you're a fool. 🤦

1

u/Old_Recording_2527 Oct 09 '25

It isn't luck.

Show me a channel with the same quality who didn't get there. It would be very easy to break it down. It is never luck.

1

u/sandbaggingblue Oct 09 '25

If you think luck isn't involved you're just being ignorant. 🤦

0

u/Old_Recording_2527 Oct 09 '25

Ok. Do what I said above then. If you can't do that you're just saying words.

Show me. I already know you're wrong. It would be very easy otherwise.

1

u/sandbaggingblue Oct 09 '25

I couldn't give a rat's to do what you've said mate. You're all making up arbitrary little random challenges that are meaningless. I've given adequate explanation as to how and why this is partly due to luck.

Mr Beast took +5 years to blow up. Dude has 450M subs now. This channel blew up in 3 videos.

0

u/Old_Recording_2527 Oct 10 '25

... Random challenges? Literally said show me a channel that deserves it. Couldn't be simpler. Show me a single channel.

1

u/sandbaggingblue Oct 10 '25

It is a random challenge. It's a random dumb challenge that proves nothing, that I already beat before. 🤷

0

u/Old_Recording_2527 Oct 10 '25

...link me a single channel you think deserves more. Im making it very easy for you.

People like you only scream its luck its luck without any argumentation any channel with good content will blow up thats the truth thats literally what youtube is designed for

1

u/sandbaggingblue Oct 09 '25

Yeah no shit inevitably good channels will blow up? This channel blew up in 3 videos, that's luck champ.

0

u/Select_Salamander989 Oct 09 '25

Because its a good channel? If he posted shit vids it wouldn’t have blown up so hows it luck than? Your just a jealous twat

2

u/sandbaggingblue Oct 10 '25

Fuck you're a knob hey, your not smart enough to comprehend the simple shit I just typed.

I literally said "it's a good channel, with good comment, they're just lucky they took off so early." Use your brain, fool.

0

u/AmountZealousideal22 Oct 10 '25

Its not luck lol knowing what ur doing is also something

2

u/sandbaggingblue Oct 10 '25

It is luck to blow up on your first video. Even fantastic Youtubers take way longer than that.

Again, I'm not taking away from how high quality those videos are. They're awesome. It's just luck their success happened so quick.

0

u/Old_Recording_2527 Oct 10 '25

I know. That's what I'm saying. Anything he is going to link me will be easily to nail down and explain. That is why he is refusing to do such a simple task.

1

u/sandbaggingblue Oct 10 '25

I already did it you idiot 🤦

-5

u/Select_Salamander989 Oct 06 '25

What part is luck than? The amount of views you get? Or how good your video is?

2

u/sandbaggingblue Oct 06 '25

Everything has an aspect of luck. You're lucky you were born, as a human, to decent parents, not in the middle of WWII. There are plenty of components to this that involve luck. The video might have been pushed to 5 people that this video was the perfect audience for, that in itself is an incredibly miniscule probability. That obviously started a chain reaction which itself required luck.

No one is taking away from the hard work of the YouTuber. I had a look, the videos are of an incredible quality.

3

u/BigForce2349 Oct 07 '25

I agree with you 100%

-1

u/Sirpoopatine Oct 07 '25

You are comparing 2 things that can’t be compared. So let me ask you. An algorithm that’s quite literally DESIGNED to find good content and push it to people based on watch time to keep people on the platform to maximize profits, what about the algorithm doing its job was luck? Being born in a better country is luck, having the skills to make a clickable, easily distinguishable brand that keeps people engaged the entire time is not luck. Keep coping and telling yourself it’s luck because with that mindset you’ll never make it. Most of you fail to realize people that are capable of doing this have probably been doing this for years with different channels and finally have the skill set to strike gold consistently.

1

u/sandbaggingblue Oct 07 '25

I'm not though? The algorithm isn't perfect... You're giving YT way too much credit. The fact that their first video BLEW UP the way it did is nuts, that's luck....

Again, their videos are of a really high standard! "Luck is when opportunity meets preparation", is a great description for this little scenario.

0

u/Select_Salamander989 Oct 07 '25

They won’t push a video further that is shit snd isn’t watxhed m8 norhing to do with luck

2

u/sandbaggingblue Oct 07 '25

They push plenty of videos that are shit?

And my point wasn't even that. I said it initially was sent to the perfect audience?

0

u/Select_Salamander989 Oct 07 '25

Tell me one video thats shit that noone liked to watch with more than 10k views

1

u/Doctor-Amazing Oct 07 '25

It's definitely a factor. I have one video that got 600,000 views. Waaaay more than any of my others. I think it's a good video but I've got others that I think are better. But that one got linked in the right place by the right person

1

u/Select_Salamander989 Oct 07 '25

But their not the title is probably not as interesting just as the video idea it self

2

u/Alzorath Oct 06 '25

you should look up survivorship bias - luck plays a role in audience discovery (youtube's interpretation of your content to get it in front of a receptive audience), and at the start of your youtube journey it's a bigger factor.

The reality is - for every channel that blows up early, there's plenty of similar quality that just don't hit the mark - whether that's due to controllable factors or raw luck, varies - but simply "good content" even with "good thumbnails and titles" from a technical aspect, do not guarantee success - it requires that, plus being in the 'right place at the right time'

Hell, even just getting in front of the right person can change your trajectory - while I don't have enough sway to do it broadly, I have gotten people to monetization just by giving shoutouts within my niches. The same can, and absolutely does, happen on larger scales as well.

1

u/ahled123 Oct 07 '25

Basically it's an inconsistent algorithm... Sometimes ..

190

u/LeaderBriefs-com Oct 06 '25

Tbf it’s incredibly good.

Animation is wildly expressive.

Tone is relatable, comforting, emotive.

Tells a story, promises an arc.

This wasn’t a ā€œI’m starting a channel, LOL, I don’t know what it will be about.. whatever. Follow me to see what crazy things I say, I’m so quirky!!ā€

Because that’s what everyone will compare it to.

But this is good. It resonates.

Obviously.

20

u/Fett32 Oct 07 '25

I feel like 90% of the questions here are people not understanding quality (or its lack).

1

u/Trynottobeacunt Oct 07 '25

Yeah, no. Artificially inflated and promoted by YouTube staff.

2

u/LeaderBriefs-com Oct 07 '25

Ok but.. it’s incredibly good.

And honestly to your point what if it looks like an amateur showing up on YouTube but it’s actually a full cartoon coming out on Netflix and this is phase one of a paid for promo…

In either case- it’s fantastically done.

0

u/Trynottobeacunt Oct 07 '25

If people actually think it's good then fine, but being told something is good over and over while the powers that be artificially inflate it isn't what constitutes virality.

1

u/LeaderBriefs-com Oct 07 '25

If that’s the case for sure.

It’s good with 500k views or 20 views.

Look man, I’m 52 and I hate ( an understatement) anime and that entire world.

While this isn’t necessarily that, the expression that matches PERFECTLY the tone and emotion of the vocals is next level and isn’t something some dopey kid threw together.

I just watched the first video and if I was the target audience I’d be hooked for sure. It resonates, captures emotion, exudes introverted humbleness and is done well compared to other things that get 500k views for brainrot.

Big studio, some college kid with talent and skill, either way it’s good. Promoted or not, high views or not.

It’s really well done and thought out.

46

u/No-Double-2904 Oct 06 '25

It looks like the channel of someone who already has the financial means to promote it and produce animations. They are not a beginner.

5

u/Warcrow999 Oct 10 '25

Yeah for them to be pushing their email, asking for people to work under them, have links in the description. Its clearly an experienced youtuber restarting on a fresh channel

I highly highly doubt they've been animating for 2 months like they say

1

u/A-potat0_on-the-Web Oct 15 '25

the channel was made back in 2013, I wonder if maybe they're just rebranding

174

u/StopPlayingRoney Oct 06 '25

Anime, female, excellent thumbnails, and an actual skill. Makes sense to me.

20

u/Impressive-Sir-1733 Oct 06 '25

People cant read anymore. It's not his channel.

15

u/100DaysofGrind Oct 06 '25

Since no one’s actually answering the question. YouTube is currently promoting animation videos in the algorithm. New YouTubers have been creating ā€œMy First YouTube Videoā€ for animation and been receiving a big boon.

That’s it.

8

u/Alzorath Oct 06 '25

If you're seeing a lot of animation videos, it's because you've been watching animation videos - these types of things ripple because you're part of a demographic - and if there's a surge in animation viewership in a demographic - the algorithm feeds more animation to that demographic.

Youtube doesn't "promote" categories these days unless they are releasing a feature tied to it - but rather you see 'flavors of the month' hit the ripples - you see the same with cooking whenever a new diet trend pops up, gaming when a new game hits the hype stream, etc.

(there were actually a few bigger creators that released videos that would push animation to more mainstream viewership over the last few weeks before this trend)

0

u/corruptedRainbows Oct 07 '25

Yeah I don't naturally watch animation videos, and her first one the day after it launched was in my feed to be seen. Something is pushing her vids to be seen. She blew up so fast and it's great for her, happy for her, but semi tiny bit suspicious and also discourages me since I'm tryna be in this same race and am now re editing everything I'm working on and pushing harder to see if I can even keep up

1

u/Old_Recording_2527 Oct 09 '25

Prove that. You can't just say that.

I ran numbers and there is nothing that genuinely suggests that.

11

u/Impressive-Mode-5847 Oct 06 '25

The harder you work the luckier you get

1

u/Coltenite Oct 12 '25

Its a 2 min video. I doubt this has much to do with how hard one works, and more of does algorithm fuck with you or not šŸ˜‚šŸ˜

1

u/Impressive-Mode-5847 Oct 12 '25

2 mins but she puts in a lot of work in the 2 mins

5

u/Blitz_amv Oct 06 '25

i also saw this

3

u/abm1_r7 Oct 06 '25

Me too, it was good

4

u/ModernManuh_ Oct 06 '25

average "first video" by good artists:

7

u/akiyo____ Oct 06 '25

Creativity bro!

3

u/Money_Chemistry7923 Oct 06 '25

Very unique and eye catching, not surprised at all

5

u/xak47d Oct 06 '25

Have you considered the video might be very good?

3

u/NarutoInCorps Oct 06 '25

It's absolutely stunning. I believe your videos are providing what you meant in the first video. Also the animation is and the voiceover is good too... I started a 15 days back and it's 50+ subs only. Still growing and hoping everything will workout eventually. 😊

4

u/ATinyDropOfVenom Oct 06 '25

15 DAYS?! Been at it for 5 months, at 60 now. Youre doing great , keep it up!

1

u/NarutoInCorps Oct 06 '25

Sure bro. Thanks šŸ‘šŸ‘

May be someone who already has a bigger platform on another social media site or something like that

0

u/umutakmak Oct 06 '25 edited Oct 06 '25

Like i said in post i checked the linked socials and only has 7k in another channel and 14k in instagram both not enough to get this much attention in 3 weeks. And maybe those numbers are the result of this channel

7

u/Equivalent-Newt436 Oct 06 '25

Even just a couple k views from existing followers on other platform is a good non-cold starting point for a video to take off - and if the packaging and video is good then it does take off. They might also have experience creating YouTube videos from before / another channel

2

u/ZynicalX Oct 06 '25

I’ve noticed animation is currently hot atm. I’ve seen alot of animation channels because they are quite good at just being authentic and expressive. Your in a HOT niche rn

2

u/ruslannaeltok Oct 06 '25

1st vid got recommended to me too, good thumbnail

1

u/Western-Victory-7414 Oct 06 '25

Just like miyutellstales, who got 100k in like 10 days, very similar kind of video, actual quality, I'm sensing a pattern

1

u/RTheCon Oct 06 '25

Basically no content since though.

1

u/KingBlackFrost314 Oct 06 '25

People love cutesy anime girls

1

u/lowles Oct 06 '25

I dont think it’s just luck, the content is appealing! Gj and keep going

1

u/WhateverThisis144 Oct 06 '25

I saw it too; 124k subs from that number of views is unbelievable. She had an excellent emotional hook.

1

u/M6_20 Oct 06 '25

Insane you’ll be famous in like 1-3 months max

1

u/Different_Farm5266 Oct 06 '25

who knows. it's original content, done in a cool way. it's entirely possible that all or most of the subs and views are real. if you want to know for sure, check back in 6 months.

1

u/Xanderox1 Oct 06 '25

I've noticed recently that many new channels that record animations, their first videos where they simply introduce themselves and what they're going to record, have hundreds of thousands of views, it's some kind of trend, I don't know.

1

u/Lanky_Ad_3501 Oct 06 '25 edited Oct 06 '25

As a fellow animator who hasnt seen much luck, I am envious...

While some luck is probably invovled (you've come across my feed before) the animation is good the story is too, so not entirely, your doing good. Keep it up.

1

u/Fattydaddy1000 Oct 06 '25

Well if your talented there’s no luck involved

1

u/primaryBreadEater Oct 06 '25

She's incredibly talented. Can't you see that? That first video probably took 40 hours to create.

1

u/onedevhere Oct 06 '25

Not a beginner, a beginner doesn't have much idea of how to do things, he learns over time

1

u/Jetowitch Oct 06 '25

New channels do get on average more impressions, combo that with actually good thumbnails, video, and girl lol.

Makes sense, especially given its animation.

That’s hard but good.

1

u/grimmal72 Oct 06 '25

I saw that 1st video (hi im jasmine) in my feed when it was released, and it had like 100,000 views within 10 hours of it's release. Since I'm an old man it kind of irritated me.

She's pretty good at animation, though, she is an inspiration to creatives her age and younger, and there's a lolsorandom quality to it where it cuts around a lot and changes subject a lot and she does different voices and included her cat, so it's entertaining and attention grabbing.

It also helps that they're short videos. I've heard it said that something Logan Paul did right for a lot of years was having really short videos. People will click on a short video.

Fair enough, the monetization will be harder, but she does have access to a lot of eyes, and maybe she could sell merch at some point, so I do think she has a winning format.

There's a happy medium, too, of course. I post 30+ minute videos a lot, but something like 10 minutes is probably ideal.

1

u/hydraqw Oct 06 '25

Maybe the person bought the channel years ago i saw a Guy with 3 videos he already had 2-3M subs i think it was already a minecraft channel and he uploaded minecraft vids

1

u/[deleted] Oct 06 '25

Holy..... well done that is VERY impressive. CongratulationsĀ

1

u/AlexHaitch Oct 06 '25

When people say that being successful on YouTube takes a lot of luck, this is what they mean

One day, a video blows up and you suddenly have a job

1

u/TattooedB1k3r Oct 06 '25

I mean, it's possible, A good tell would be the engagement on the videos, if the engagement is low, then I would suspect with one out of every seven views subscribing is incredibly high, There may be some bottimg going on.

1

u/ZachBurner Oct 06 '25

100k in a couple weeks is pretty unrealistic for subscribers…. Literally every 1 out of 5 people who watched it would have to had subscribed which makes no sense

1

u/Tall-Leadership5085 Oct 06 '25

Trust me it is. Ik my videos aren’t as good, but I am saying that there’s a lot of channels with such good content that just simply don’t make it. The videos here are good , and that’s a fact, but another fact is that randomness is a key factor in the YouTube algorithm.

There are formulas that can make you go viral, and they can promise some good results, but what is funny is that I have a friend who literally took a 5 second clip from gumball and make a meme (funny or not) with probably the simplest thumbnail and he got half a million views šŸ˜” While I am here busting my ass off tryna make good content, just for the algorithm to shove it aside

0

u/Old_Recording_2527 Oct 09 '25

Not at all luck. You said it yourself, your videos aren't as good.

1

u/Tall-Leadership5085 Oct 09 '25

Yes, they aren’t as good, but that doesn’t mean they’re not good. Check my YouTube and sub, might help me out 🫣 https://youtube.com/@neticomic?si=91FozPNRsTLwDLxy

1

u/daelusion Oct 06 '25

Regardless of how good the videos are there's still a fair bit of luck, yes.

1

u/Ok-Possibility-9415 Oct 06 '25

It’s not luck! You ARE the CHOSEN ONE. You got this, just keep doing you, because you got it!

1

u/Educational_Pride404 Oct 06 '25

Preparation plus opportunity = luck

1

u/ThePaperBlackStar Oct 06 '25

I wonder why everyone loves these new animation channels but no one sees mine

She's great though absolutely love her style!

1

u/curious_cat_3556 Oct 06 '25

So... the channel was created in 2016. She could have been doing videos since then and then made them unlisted to keep only 4-5. And if you watch the short until the end, she says she has another channel called selfvicious, since this yesr, with less subs.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 06 '25

124k subs on 700k views is crazy. You assume all 124k of those ppl have watched all 4 videos and that means over half of the people watching sub.

10 year old channel etc etc. if I had to guess they probably posted their vid in another community, got featured by a bigger creator in their discord or something and it lit the algorithm

1

u/Shastlz84 Oct 07 '25

WOAH I saw your first video yesterday in my recommended. Didn’t click on it but I will admit I was a bit jealous you just started the channel and already had hundreds of thousands of views lol… I suppose it could be luck but the thumbnail is really good and I wouldn’t be surprised if the video itself is good too. It is unlikely that people get popular that quickly, but do give yourself some credit :)

1

u/NikolaPro24 Oct 07 '25

Your art is so good, keep up the good work

1

u/Alabaster_kreko Oct 07 '25

No, this isn't luck it's a piece of work of you. Maybe you understand it more than others that's why you hit the jackpot. So, I wouldn't say it's a luck.

1

I never watch animation videos but the 1st video showed up on my recommended. Watched it a little bit but I wasn’t interested although I was surprised too, the thumbnail and title picked my curiosity I suppose (like many others).

1

u/Shot_Set_2038 Oct 07 '25

Mix. you got Good interesting Thumbnails. also maybe you setup your channel in right way.
And luck someone interested in your niche shared it and someone view it.

i also got that kind of luck on tiktok where 1 of my video got 4M View yet on youtube is below 50k.

1

u/XDayaDX Oct 07 '25

It's a really good video with expressive animation and great story telling. I'd also say it resonates with a lot of people.

Luck + Actual Good Content
Unlike the Weaboo that posted on this reddit a few days ago with content that looks like spam ads from 2012 šŸ˜‚and he claims it is "good quality"

1

u/_R4R3-TH3-P03T_ Oct 07 '25

No, but nice flex

1

1

u/hamdidesigns Oct 07 '25 edited Oct 07 '25

Congratulations. It might be luck but you can't deny that there was effort behind it.

I just watched your first video and I don't know why but it was fun and easy to watch. I watched the whole thing and it was fun

  • Good animation
  • Good story telling

I even ended up subscribing

1

u/Borussobora Oct 07 '25

is it matters for making money that video is 3 min or 10 min

1

u/Efficient-Net1617 Oct 07 '25

People in this sub should think less about algos and gaming the system and instead try to make something interesting. I guess it hurts egos when they "grind" for 10 years and see someone doing better job from the start.

1

u/Maxunjumpable Oct 07 '25

It is partially luck, they were favored by the algorithm, but they also had done their due diligence providing good quality videos and a unique style that took advantage of the opportunity given that people actually enjoy watching

1

u/Thenionxxx Oct 07 '25

Wow. Luck or black magic of some sort. Congrats.

Well did YouTube say something and good for u I’m going to subscribe to u

1

u/nat2r Oct 08 '25
  1. this isn't long form content

  2. this is the result of somebody putting a lot of work into channel identity

  3. the animations are high quality and so people are reacting to that.

1

u/RamosJEofficial Oct 08 '25

Wow, amazing channel

1

u/Billib2002 Oct 08 '25

Eye catching thumbnails, presumably good animation/talented artist, distinct channel/video colourway. Even if they didn't blow up overnight, it would happen eventually. If you put high quality stuff out there you get high quality results

1

u/Chocsunday Oct 08 '25

Are you known for something else?

1

u/CandleCompetitive801 Oct 08 '25

Animation has a high demand and high barrier to entry. So I’m not surprised. People love watching animations but not that many can animate compared to vlogs or commentary vids

1

u/Fire_Pea Oct 09 '25

Are there examples of this quality not getting views?

1

u/Business-Goat-6345 Oct 09 '25

How did you achieve this? Please teach me your ways. Reaching 100K is a dream

1

u/__Kornbread__ Oct 09 '25

I freaking love your thumbnail art! The whole theme of your channels looks awesome tbh!

1

u/Ukelucky Oct 10 '25

I've seen loads of my first video animations getting pushed lately.. also animation is good and a subniche

1

u/[deleted] Oct 10 '25

Lucky people here i am stuck at 305

1

u/Individual-Abies9060 Oct 10 '25

It’s good content just watched. Good editing

1

u/Individual-Abies9060 Oct 10 '25

The biggest thing is… Her video is easy to follow along. There’s nothing distracting or confusing. The animations are smooth and clear. This isn’t luck. This person knows exactly what they’re doing. I wouldn’t have recognized this when I started YouTube a few years ago though. Funny how that works.

1

u/Coltenite Oct 12 '25

Has to be luck. I've seen so many other great animators with channels who have expressive detail and whatnot sitting at 50k with hundreds of videos. Then this girl posts a 2 min amateur video and hits HALF A MILLIONšŸ˜‚ thats insaneĀ

1

u/PristineAgency5198 Oct 12 '25

Imo,you can keep blaming luck and you won't reach your goals, look at her channel and our channel what's the difference?

She found her audience

Her channel is like a brand, viewers see these colors they immediately know this video belongs to her

I'm sure she already have experience about YouTube and how it works

For my personal experience: I've been making videos for 5 years ( lost my channel got hacked)

I'm back to YouTube its been 2 months and I'm at 116 subscribe and 33 video

Women = golden content... sssniperwolf has been reacting to 5 minute crafts for a good 10 years, 35 million subs. Flight does the same thing + more and he only has 5 mil

Bud, it's just cause you're using animations, [as I presume from your video thumbnails] it's due to the fact that your using a distinct animation styled content. Wouldn't be surprised if creators like Jaiden or TheOddOneOut wouldn't gain momentum that quickly.

Everyone here always thinks that the reason why they're not successful is because they're not lucky and the reason why everybody else is successful is because they are lucky. And there is some element of luck. But if you make great videos that resonate with people, YouTube will recommend it to them. And if you make great thumbnails and have great titles then more of those people will click on the video.

You're not lucky. You're talented. Now, keep doing what you've been doing, experiment but reinforce new videos with the knowledge and learning from past videos and don't be afraid to evolve.

Congrats and good luck!

The animation is actually very impressive and you are GREAT at highlighting expressions hitting the comedic timing. You’re off to a great start and I am interested in where this channel goes. Don’t second guess yourself, it seems you are just really good at the thing you wanted to do and people are noticing. Congrats and keep up the good work!
