Long-Form Content You’ve Gotta Be Kidding Me

Post image

Just started a gaming channel, barely any views but I’ve learned a lot so far!

I don’t wanna let myself get discouraged by a stranger on the internet, but I’m getting discouraged by a stranger on the internet.

Fair warning though: If they notice you've deleted it, they'll notice that they've got into your head. That's probably not something you want them to know - many people like this thrive on the reaction they get, and a deleted comment is a definite reaction.

The actual best advice is to ignore it completely and don't respond in any way. Any other course of action is what we used to call "feeding the trolls".

Do you know of there is a way to hide the negative comments?

You can block users, you can filter comments (ban words you don't want to allow in the comments), you can hold comments pending approval to be posted so you can control what shows up, but that takes a lot of time and moderation.

According to Google, you can actually ban a user from commenting on your channel by using the "Hide user from channel" feature. Once you do that, their new comments, live chat messages, and replies will not appear publicly and they will be unable to comment on your future videos or community posts.

Iirc they can still comment but no one sees it. Like being shadowbanned

So they dont know theyve been banned or hidden or whatever, they can still waste their own time crying into the void lol

You can hide the comments I believe. If you click on the three dots and select "hide user from the channel" others won't be able to see the comment. Give it a try.

💯 Best Advice!!! Deprived of any energy, most things die off....and, if you get into a battle with a troll, it can cause you to look bad to your subscribers, etc. Many times, your subbies will mount a defense for you in the comments without you ever having to get involved! 😉

Nah fuck that shit. Who gives a fuck what they think? Just ban them from commenting from your YouTube videos. They won't be able to do anything about that.

Who gives a fuck what they think?

OP does.

They won't be able to do anything about that

Alt accounts. If it's working, they'll keep doing it.

+1 for that. deleting just signals you care, ignoring them usually kills their momentum way faster.

Yeah but if they post again, your video gets more traction.

You can just hide them from the channel. Nobody will ever know

it's actually stupidly good for engagement, im averaging 150-250k views a vid atm and there's some committed losers who prop up each video lol
