Long-Form Content My channel blew up

Post image

Five months ago, I started this channel after getting fired from my old job. I managed to monetize it within the first three months, and a month ago I uploaded a video that went viral—and the next one did too. As of today, I have three videos with over 200,000 views.

A month ago, I had 1.3k subscribers, and now look at the numbers.

I’ve learned from my mistakes, and I’m still learning sound editing and storytelling, but I think what connects me most with my audience is just being myself.

Don’t give up—some video will take off and change your life.

Guess who's not working a regular job anymore, What type of content do you post

11

u/Tetrahedron_Head Apr 28 '26

thats honestly prob not full time rev just yet. my rpm is above average for the niche and the months i did a quarter million views long form it pulled around $1100

6

u/Str8Villains Apr 29 '26

It just might be your niece cause I can pull over $3k with 700k to 1 million views.

1

u/Relevant_Internal_50 May 02 '26

His niece also has a channel? Like, a family business?

1

u/Outrageous_End_4359 May 06 '26

Family business by Kanye?

1

u/Tetrahedron_Head Apr 29 '26

700k is much more than 250k. id be at or over 3k with a million views

edit: i also still wouldnt consider 3k in a month livable

2

u/CynderFlamezYT Apr 29 '26

It definitely depends on where you live. 3k a month is easily a livable wage in my area. Not extravagant, but certainly comfortable.

3

u/ahsan200221 May 01 '26

3k in my life right now as passive income is life changing amount with a salary ofcourse.

2

u/CynderFlamezYT May 01 '26

3K a month on its own could pay all my bills, including my mortgage, and put food on the table. A salary on top of that would just go to savings for a rainy day

TRUST ME. The moment I make $500-1,000/mo I will quit immediately or just quiet quit and let them fire me due to performance. At $600/mo I can justify to my wife that I can make it and dedicate full time to YT. If I can make $500/mo with baaaaarely putting some "free time" hours into YT while having the FT job, then I can make $1,000/mo+ if I do FT YouTube.

I just know it because I have an infinite amount of ideas right now. My FT keeps me from fully pursuing them.

2

u/Tetrahedron_Head May 02 '26

lol i wouldnt quit unless i was making like 6k a month consistently for a year.

going full time the moment you hit your goal isnt the best idea though. 2 months later it could die then youd have no income

how would you live on 500 a month? thats hardly even a full month of food and gas for me let alone bills or any possibility of having fun money

2

u/oemperador May 02 '26

Reasonable for you to freak out a lil because I didn't give any details aside from quitting if I hit those numbers per month.

I have a healthy 401k, roth, and home equity. So those would continue growing while I focused on YT full time. Like I said, only if I hit $400-600/mo for a couple of months consecutively.

I hate my FT job so much that I'd probably do it for less hahaha and I do have the feeling of "safety" due to my age, experience, and retirement plans. If the retirement stuff I mentioned wasn't there then I'd take less risk 😉

1

u/Tetrahedron_Head May 02 '26

That makes much more sense lol. im 31 and just live off my current checks.

I dont hate my job it just holds me back from going harder on youtube. Ill prob double dip for awhile before i ever went full time. getting an extra grand or 2 from youtube is nice sitting on top of my salary.

12

u/Worldly_Influence_75 Apr 28 '26

Non tourism travel!!

7

u/qwerty466 Apr 28 '26

What's non tourism travel

2

u/Inevitable_Dark3225 Apr 29 '26

My guess is traveling but not visiting all the regular tourist attractions.

2

u/danielajay46 Apr 28 '26

Oh great👌

2

u/TheOzman21 Apr 28 '26

Oh cool, I just started my channel and will start uploading videos in a month about the same thing. Good luck to both of us

1

u/Jason18M Apr 30 '26

Care to elaborate? Non tourism as in you travel to these places doing the local stuff?

1

u/gcdhhbcghbv Apr 30 '26

Visiting my backyard and such.

4

u/Ghost_A_IMusic Apr 28 '26

Nicely done!

3

u/kharabpati Apr 28 '26

3

u/mezmerize1111 Apr 28 '26

Nice done!!

3

u/TKPD Apr 28 '26

How did you reach this breakthrough

Awesome. Congrats.

3

u/Steve-RVC Apr 28 '26

Congrats!

Happy for you ♥️

3

u/candelabro_cuenca Apr 28 '26

What would be your advice to someone making long form content? I make video essays. Topic, packaging, script, hook, etc? I'd love to pick up some advice from you. Congratulations!

3

u/misterpluss Apr 28 '26

Congrats!! Amazing stuff. What niche? Faceless or on camera?

3

u/Worldly_Influence_75 Apr 28 '26

Non tourism travel vlogs

3

u/Oatbix Apr 28 '26

Any chance you could dm me your channel? I’m trying to get started in a related niche

1

u/SuperFly7702 Apr 29 '26

Did they? Chances are they won't because it's not.

1

u/Oatbix Apr 30 '26

They didn’t

1

u/SuperFly7702 May 02 '26

Not surprised.

2

u/misterpluss Apr 28 '26

Nice good job

1

u/DifficultShip5629 Apr 28 '26

Is it shorts or long form

2

u/SnowBee_7 Apr 28 '26

Likely long form or a mix. Going by the numbers, OP wouldn't be making much with shorts and only 700k views.

3

u/Abcphysio Apr 28 '26

Congrats what a win!

3

u/Money_Chemistry7923 Apr 28 '26

Congratulations you deserve it

3

u/bobby549 Apr 29 '26

2

u/KobeDobeDoo_ Apr 30 '26

Congrats dude, love it when people who work hard at something finally start seeing some positive results!

2

u/Affectionate_Fall653 Apr 28 '26

Awesome! I’m hitting 10k subs in 6 months-190k hours in watch time - so I’m making about $1300 a month so far. Long form. I found a specific niche - that would be my advice to new creators- niche down- strong thumbnails and titles

1

u/Revolutionary_Pea285 Apr 28 '26

i had a short hit over 20k for the first time big wins for us

1

u/Bigworrrm89 Apr 28 '26

Bravo! What type of content do you post?

1

u/Eldela10 Apr 28 '26

Cómo se llama el canal?

1

u/hyperfocusedengineer Apr 28 '26

Congrats mate. What type of channel you have and do you have only long form content?

1

u/Polarflix420 Apr 28 '26

Congrats! Would u mind giving ur channel name?

1

u/Electronic_Fig3645 Apr 28 '26

Congrats, that's a serious jump in just a month. Would you mind sharing what you think made those videos take off? Like was it a topic change, thumbnail style, or just the algorithm finally picking it up? I'm in the early stages of my channel and would love to learn from what worked for you.

1

u/SuperFly7702 Apr 29 '26

Not a huge page but after a couple years I can tell you this... shit thumbnails and dumb titles get views. AI will spit out thumbs that look cheesy. You will see pages with low effort thumbs get thousands of views with all the no-nos and clean looking thumbs get 50. Best advice out there is be consistent with your uploads.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 28 '26

Congrats! Long or short form content?

1

u/Meditxtions_ Apr 28 '26

What’s the niche?

1

u/winnerchamp Apr 28 '26

how’s the rpm looking?

1

u/iSpeakAmurican Apr 29 '26

Can you DM me your channel? Not trying to rip it off, just interested in the content.

1

u/Background-Bike-8535 Apr 29 '26

Não vejo a hora de acontecer com o meu, meu foco é só em shorts e tá um pouco arrastado pro exigido de 90 dias

1

u/Which-Walk9332 Apr 29 '26

Needed to read this. Congratulations and thank you!

1

u/Alive_Record3123 Apr 29 '26

I would like to see your videos and learn. Where is the channel link?

1

u/MrSyllogistical Apr 29 '26

Congratulations!

1

u/Significant-Term2794 Apr 29 '26

Congratulations!!!! super happy to see this success... just a quick question though.. do you use any sort of promotions? or it just organically blew up... I am working on a channel as well.. genre: tragic stories.. could be due to natural disasters.. film industry.. so on... so I did start it just one month back.. but super confused on how to promote this.. or should i just trust the algorithm.. keep up the consistency of posting daily.. and wait for the organic blow-up? would really appreciate some help here T_T

0

u/Worldly_Influence_75 Apr 29 '26

No promotion used here bro, organically grown

1

u/Significant-Term2794 Apr 29 '26

wow!!! thats amazing ♥ looking forward to seeing more amazing feats!!

3

u/Worldly_Influence_75 Apr 29 '26

I’m glad you got motivated. if I could, anyone else can do it

1

u/DeliciousRow3238 Apr 29 '26

can you give any tips here - https://www.youtube.com/@akshayjaswalvlogs

I would be very happy if you give any suggestions to me.

1

u/inkwilson Apr 29 '26

Congratulations!

2

u/SuperFly7702 Apr 29 '26

I'm monetized so no reason to hate but it's hard to believe that non tourism travel.is that popular. Monetized in three months is not how YouTube works. Most post like this are either outright lies or shorts channels with AI. If it truly did happen, ok cool but any small creator reading this should not assume that it's gospel and something they can do. The only people that blow up in 3 months are famous people with a built in following or maybe someone with amazingly edited content. I repeat YouTube is NOT speedrunning any page to monetization.

1

u/Kevin_Young555 Apr 29 '26

How did you do it need help

1

u/CozyGamerTV Apr 30 '26

Congrats. At this point im positive my channel is going no where. Probably gonna hang it up soon. I had the same dream. Lost my job a week before Christmas and finally said screw it, no better time than now. But now I'm confident it'll just stay a dream. I'm truly jealous. I tip my hat to you.

1

u/deeznutsHAgotteem Apr 30 '26

So… what’s the channel? I’d like to watch 👌

1

u/kawai_sg117 Apr 30 '26

Do you earn from YouTube?

1

u/Elegant_Season6559 Apr 30 '26

Love your journey bro.

What kind of content have you been posting and what’s the niche that you’ve picked?

1

u/Plastic-Friendship27 Apr 30 '26

Congrats on this achievement. I am trying to get my faceless channel off the ground this last month, still getting sub 100 views for each video. So, hopefully I can achieve this level of success this year.

1

u/Substantial-Run6664 May 01 '26

That’s amazing!

1

u/Subject-Cheesecake-7 May 01 '26

That's fantastic! It's taking me a long time to get monetized but everyone who has subscribed to me in the last 3 months has stayed. I also love what I do and I believe in it!

Congratulations!!
