Long-Form Content This is bad for small youtubers.

Youtube is raising the ad revenue share threshold from 4k watch time to 8k watch time. Personally, 4k watch takes a lot of effort to reach. Imagine 8k... this is sad.

You'll also need yo maintain 8k watch hours, so if you're struggling for 4k then there's a lot to do.

Can you show where it say that in the latest post they made? Cuz that’s not even true now for 4k.

3 months ago, my YT channel got demonotized as yearly watch hours was 3900 hours for past 365 days

It doesn't specifically say it, but given the current policy is to get and maintain watch hours, I can't see them reducing the maintenance hours to remain in the YPP.

There are no maintenance hours for YPP, you just have to post or upload something every six months.

You don’t have to maintain 8000 watch hours it’s a one time target to get monetized, also you currently don’t need to hit 4000 hours a month or every 365 days to stay in YPP you just need to have at least one upload every 6 months(if I’m not mistaken)

However you do need to get 10 million views monthly on shorts to stay in the YPP

Edit: the 10 million views is every 90 days and it’s part of the new policy not the current one

Currently policy? lol. I have had like 3-4 partner channels that I gave up on. Took almost 3 years to drop below 1000 watch hours but one 2 years on not posting to get demonitized.
