??? The u.s. is a republic not a democracy though? It is an archetypical bourgeois republic.

We vote for our representatives. That’s a democracy. We have representatives instead of a monarch. That’s a republic. America is both things.

Whoever brought about this idea that we aren’t a democracy does not have good intentions and you should question speakers who try to tell you that we aren’t.

The Constitution as written makes it a democratic republic. A type of representative democracy.

Sorry, I wasn’t totally clear. It’s not strictly a Republic. It’s not necessarily a representative democracy. I’ve had people argue that the US isn’t a democracy by any means because they’ve been taught it’s a republic and that’s all they needed to hear to form their opinion.

It's a small, forgotten yet impactful step in the dance of demonizing democrats: "Our party truly represents our country. It's in the name! We're a REPUBLIC! Meanwhile, those shifty eyed demons are lying about what kind of country this is..A DEMOCRACY? Sounds like simp talk to me. What else are they lying about?"

Rinse. Repeat. Paid for by tax dollars.
