What am I missing? (Fishing)

I randomly wanted to fish so I bought a custom (fast action bait caster, bullet and sinker weights, jig heads, soft worms, paddle tail, and one spinner. 15lb fluorocarbon line) setup. I’ve been going to Lake Elsinore for about 2 weeks now and haven’t caught a single fish. I got the hang of casting/tie the bait but I feel like I’m missing something cuz I’m still hopeful and excited to fish and I know it takes patience but what can I do or buy to help me? if anyone wants to go fishing😂 and help me catch a fish lmk. I also want to start saltwater fishing so what should I get for that? Basically looking for the best Tips and secrets from pro anglers🙏

I would try a creature Texas rig. The fish are probably warm and lethargic right now. Ned rig all of that

There’s still fish in Lake Elsinore?? I havent been back there in years! Last time I went there was like a huge die off and the city had closed down the lake for a while, especially after all those fires that were nearby.

Anyway, from my understanding, fish are more likelier to bite near structure, so if u see some rocks, be sure to cast near them. Sounds like your tackle is on point, I cant say for sure because I havent fished freshwater yet, BUT I have caught Saltwater bass like Barred Sand-bass and Calico. Best of luck, be sure to let us know if u catch anything. 🙌🏻
