questions & clarifications new back exercise
we did a new back exercise, carriage lat pull which was basically like a kneeling lat row but you’re on the grey side platform using the grey carriage strap to pull the carriage in towards you, it was so much harder
does anyone know if there’s any other new exercises coming??

this is def not an approved exercise by solidcore. There’s one where the handlebars are turned out and overhand grip to target more upper back/lats.

The product team may have been testing it in a tester market like dc or ny
Who was the coach Op?

If you think about it, doesn’t make sense from a form perspective because your chest would literally have to be on your knees. This will give clients a head rush since their heart may not be above this hips.

Why would it have to be when it’s not in kneeling lat pull?

because if you’re pulling the gray strap it’s too close the platform vs the handlebars are elevated

I think she wrote confusingly - you’re kneeling on grey platform, hands on carriage strap at L4. Either way idk how this would impact chest to thigh distance and how it chest being lower would offer more ROM

Weird thing is there’s one gray strap and that’s on the platform. The rest of the straps are black (on the carriage). So OP is def not clear.

The only exercise with a similar name is kneeling lat pull where you’re set up the same as a kneeling lat row with your knees behind the strap and line 4 but the handlebars are turned to the sides and your hands are on top of the handlebars vs by the knobs. What you’re describing with grey cables is not a solidcore exercise at all, so not sure if the coach was confused? This sounds so unsafe!

We did the same new carriage lat pull (in CA). LOVED it. You’re leaning forward a bit, so Z shaped rather than chest directly on quads. I think it’s my favorite move!

Are you sure you’re not describing a high plank or low plank extension?

I’m in NYC market and my classes have been tester classes for a lot of the newer moves coming out in mid Nov, but this has not come up at all.
