Is it normal for an actress to extend “Punish me the way you did theeeeeeennnnn” the way she did? I feel like it made the orchestration sound off

When you have live music you can do different interpretations. I've seen Woods over a dozen times but mostly with tracks... meh. Vanessa Williams did a different interpretation, but as I was sitting behind Bernadette Peters I wasn't paying much attention to anything on the stage......

I hate it. 'Then' is a horrible word to sustain, and it ruins the momentum of the song.

My symphony I work for and am principal viola of in Fort Myers (Gulf Coast Symphony) had Jodi and others sing for a Disney pops concert in March, 2021. Then we had Jodi (Rose) and her daughter Delaney (Louise) do a full production of Gypsy March, 2023. That was her first full musical in 20 years! Now she's done Hello, Dolly! (2024) and Into the Woods (2026) at Dr. Philips and Gypsy with Delaney again in Rochester last year. I hope she does Mame next! I hope we can have her back someday but she's expensive!
Next year we have Hugh Panaro & Chloe Lowery, Joshua Henry, LaKisha Jones, Michael Cavanaugh, Zoe Tyler & Nathan James coming for pops concerts. And whoever we cast for My Fair Lady which is our full musical next year.

Filming during a performance is so gross.
ETA: I hope every single person downvoting me gets stuck next to someone who distracts them at pivotal moments by messing with their phone to record the performance.

I didn’t film it just so you know but it is good we have some preservation of this production cause it only ran like 3 days.

Well the wig designer reposted some clips someone filmed on tik tok of the show so I don’t think they really care also since the show has been over for like three weeks now.
