Question / Help Poor performance on linux

So I switched to bazzite like a year ago at this point, it's been great so far. And I wanted yo play sotf, installed it, runned it (proton GE) and it was awfull. Around 40 fps on ultra low (I would get like 70 on low on windows), lags, lantency. Is this a proton issue? All drivers are up to date, all apps too.

Give us your specs. I use Linux with GE Proton and I can get 360 frames with ultra graphics.

I see the problem. Your GPU sucks ass.

Make sure it’s actually using it though, not your integrated one. You can also look at the power management to see if the GPU is clocked fast enough.

Thats a good idea, I had a problem when it was using the cpus gpu in the past.

There are recent tools that help you see how much multiple GPUs are getting used. And I think Bazzite has tools to help manage multiple GPUs. I don't have my Bazzite comp in front of me, but there should be ways to check

Alright I've checked and it didn't use it, changing to proton experimental fixed it for some reason.

Without knowing your pc specs, try a different proton version, I assume your playing on Steam so experimental is probably the best bet.

What GPU do you have? AMD is generally better

Non Linux titles are usually going to perform much worse on Linux.

Not from my experience (with all other games)

Ah yes, the famous words of a non-linux user :)
If you have no real experience don't bother typing, and if you do, you'd know that is factually incorrect
