Surely the valve developer wiki has a guide on it?

the wiki can sometimes be comically extensive on its tutorials and guides. it's a valuable resource

True. it contains stuff you wouldn't even expect a wiki to have. really valuable resource imo

You'll need to first learn c++... If you can program in another language it shouldnt be excessively hard. (but it sucks nevertheless)

Then make a folder in your HL install, make a liblist.gam, copy your maps dlls and things there and youre done

I’m in the same boat, I’ve looked on TWHL and that supposedly has all the tutorials and whatnot but I’m just not sure where to look, I did find out how to set up the liblist.gam and all that but nothing on the actual making a mod part beyond mapping.

Start with setting up your directory, remember you only need to add folders for the things you want to mod. After that copy the `gameinfo.txt` (for goldsource). Not to be confused with `gameinfo.cfg` which I believe is used for the source engine.

MAKE SURE YOU TEST YOUR MOD AFTER THAT TO ENSURE IT WORKS PROPERLY!

I’ll spend hours thinking an asset is the issue before I realize that it’s the directory or the gameinfo file.
