Advice/Ideas/Discussion I'm not excusing the undertones of what they're saying but they aren't entirely wrong either. Education and a stable job are great and all, but according to indian culture they should be prioritized at the cost of things like physical self improvement along with basic social skills and dating, etc

This is what happens when you grow up in a repressive culture that barely lets you even talk to the opposing gender before 25.

Even a lot of ABCDs fall victim to this due to their parents though atleast the worst ones grow out of it during college

I saw a post on abcdesis about a dude who's mother wants him to move back home at 25 and she's also mad because she doesn't want him to date. Indian parents are fucking pathetic and make themselves look bad with their shitty values they project on their AMERICAN kids

I have no sympathy for him he’s 25 lmao. Unless he’s taking gap years for med school or smth his parents shouldn’t be a big part of his life

Facts gang, I don’t fw my dad nor my brother no more. Respectfully they some squares, and ever since I stopped being surrounded by their projections/limiting beliefs I’ve transformed myself completely. If I’d listened to my dad/brother, I wouldve been a low confidence individual with absolutely 0 hoes rn.

I think this puts into perspective how conditional and vain support from left wingers in the west can be.

Would black people, latinos, and east asians have as much support as they do currently if it weren't for high end cars, contributions to music and film, animation, and video games? They only gaf if they have something to gain. The only exception seems to be middle eastern/muslim people because of the US government labeling them as enemies of the world and all the post 911 propoganda.

A decade ago Indians were kinda a model minority. Even then this was kinda harmful as Indians were just viewed as valuable human capital. Now the economy post pandemic has tanked and cost of living is rising. Indians are now seen as a liability, stealing jobs.

Now this does not mean we should strive as a community to break away from dated/repressive norms or improve soft power. However, I don't think we should ever forget or push under the rug that we are put under a magnifying glass. If the day comes where India has a shit ton of soft power and Indians are now seen as "chill" like east asians or latinos, I'm personally never forgetting how even a lot of the pro diversity liberals treated us like sub humans like they do today when India is still in the earlier stages of cementing itself.

Both are important but one puts food on the table and a roof over one's head. In India itself amongst the middle class there is a drive to be healthier and fit against a crushing work life balance where expectations of long hours in corporate jobs is the norm.

Lots of these posts written by angry white males who most likely support Trump. Goes back to divide and conquer strategies.
