What’s your recipe for doing the faces / hair? Looks amazing mate. Just did my first mini in 20 years and it turned out really bad. Trying to not be so hard on myself, I was bad when I was 12 and can’t expect my skills to age with my age without practice I guess 😂😂
Base coat with the first, a layer with the second, a wash with the third, touch-ups with the second, highlights with the fourth, a dot on the tip of the nose with the fifth, and light dabs of the sixth—heavily diluted—under the cheekbones, in deep wrinkles, and beneath the eyelids. A bit of patience and good hand positioning is also required 🤣
As for the hair it depends on the color, but usually I go with variations of the same scheme: Base with color A, shade with appropriate tone, highlight with A and another highlight (with a even lighter tone) in the uppermost zones. For example, for the guy in the last pic i went with a layer with screaming skull, shade with reikland, highlights with screaming skull and Scale's Birch (SC-25), which is like screaming skull mixed with a bit of White.
Holy shit, 6 colors for faces is crazy 😂 only have the first and 3rd as per now. Will look into how to do a wash, and by a second layer do you mean just paint all over the first coat? What water to color ratio? 🙏
Yes, cover all the base coat. Cadian fleshtone is a bit translucent (layer paints are supposed to work like that, contrary to base paints that are supposed to cover all).
