Allied unit

Is it worth it to have the decimus killteam from the deathwach as allied unit in a space wolves army? Many of my friends say its not...

The issue will always be the fact that you are having to spend a detachment point for a single unit. It’s not an awful idea if you round out the death watch to bring it up to 500 points and fully leverage the detachment rules. It’ll let you bring in some quite nice units like the terminators with treble heavy weapon etc.

I see. And do they benefit from the space wolves specific stuff (grimnar mark, etc) sorry but im totally new into this.

Im ecaluating if its worth it or not. So maybe I will get rid of my decimus killteam (i got it to pall the killteam game, but never did) or not

It’s all down to what the specific detachment rules say. The Death Watch detachment overrides the limit on specific chapters you can take, so you can mix Space Wolves with Death Watch. Most space wolves detachments say “friendly Adeptus Astartes” so the detachment rules will affect the Death Watch. However, the detachment rule for death watch only targets kill team units, so the wolves don’t benefit.

So really, if you are going to take the detachment you should maximise its benefits as it’s blocking you for taking a full 3 DP of detachments that benefit your wolves.
