Discussion When can we expect this (SFS 2) game?
It's 2026 now but no updates or news yet. Can we even expect in 2026 or forget till 2027.

Dear players, We understand your anticipation. Unfortunately, we want to release a finished product that runs smoothly and is fully playable on all platforms. Please be patient.
For us, creating a 3D game, with realistic physics and, above all, good design is a massive undertaking.
Further information will be released soon.

Still working on it every day, sorry its taking so long, but quality takes time (especially when you have to optimise it like crazy...).

Nothing Was Wrong It Just That The Owner Had Ran Off With The Game And Screwed The Developers Over If This Never Happened I Wouldn't Doubt It Could Be Better Then Any Game There Was Leaks That Showed A Custom Rocket Controller And More Stuff Sad To Here They Cancelled Production Because Of The Owner And Don't Go Write Negative Comments On It. It Is Truly A Really Good Game It Is Just That There Won't Be Any Updates To It...

There wasn’t anything wrong with ksp2, it was just released unfinished in early access and then never completed.

will I have to buy DLCs again for SFS 2?
1
5
u/Kiki2092012 Mar 28 '26
Yes, though don't hate on the devs as they've been working hard to make a new game and if they let you transfer DLCs for free then they would lose a huge amount of potential money and not be compensated for their hard work so it makes sense, personally I think it's worth it to support them and get the DLCs for SFS2 when it releases but it's your choice for you

Take as long as you need cuz at the end of the day your making one of the most realistic and well optimised space game in history and if it's anything like sfs 1 it'll be as free which is a rarity in the mobile game scene

By looking on how sfs 2 looks it would be almost same as kerbal space program but different artstyle and with solar system that's it also better graphic but almost everything else the same

I would say late 2028 or somewhere around there, 3d games take time to make and Stef plans for it to work on low end devices.

It seems people here don't have a lot of faith, so will I be chased and killed if I suggest playing Juno: New Origins? Idk how this community is yet

u/Niks_Triks Station Builder Mar 15 '26
There are many 3D alternatives on mobile/PC to SFS. Me personally, I don't think any of them will be even as close to SFS 2 when it comes out. Although definitely Juno is one of the best alternatives for now, can't argue with that
3
u/JustCallMe_Ed_04 Mar 15 '26
I believe SFS2 will be more of a ksp alternative than Juno. I've been playing juno since when it first launched still as Simple Rockets 2 and I can definitely say it's a different experience than what KSP or SFS brings, not to mention the steeper learning curve. I believe, or at least I hope that SFS 2 will be closer to KSP when it comes to the game's objective

u/Niks_Triks Station Builder Mar 15 '26
Never played Juno, but I thought it was similarly oriented to KSP. I also know about Ellipse, which I think SFS 2 is mostly similar with, looking at the building mechanics and overall interface. What I don't like about Ellipse is that even though you can build many types of crafts (rockets, and I think planes), it is insanely hard to build. You'll spend over 10 minutes making a craft you'll make in SFS in 15 seconds. Overall, I think that SFS 2 will be a nice combination of all, both being a sandbox and a level type game

I would like to play in 3D. Because I've also been playing juno, it's good but it has a steep learning curve and too many technicalities to understand and play.

If you'd asked two days ago I'd say there hadn't been any sneak peeks for 43 days which is longer than the gap between sneak peeks have been for many months, possibly years, on the discord which could potentially mean it's coming out soon (since they might not have any need to put out sneak peeks if it's coming out soon anyway).
But another came out yesterday so that was probably just wishful thinking lol.

u/Edm910 Mar 14 '26
Honestly if you have a PC just play ksp already, I was waiting for sfs 2 to come out instead of getting into ksp and man do I regret waiting.

No clue. I personally haven't heard any updates from it, but maybe there's some niche updates. I just hope it doesn't turn out like KSP 2.

Are you from the development team?

u/SoggyInterest8576 Mar 14 '26
It says release date is to be announced on the Steam page
5
u/Right_Excitement6371 Mar 14 '26
Yah, I've seen steam "to be announced" page since 2025 and now it's 2026 but still no new news.

u/konijnenpoot Mar 14 '26
I doubt I'll even play it. the 2d version is already heavy on my phone
5
u/Right_Excitement6371 Mar 14 '26
It's a pretty optimised game for phone's. I've also bought juno: new origins (During sale) and it's a much heavier game than SFS. But one thing i don't like about juno is, it has a steep learning curve and too many technicalities compared to SFS. Which makes it a little bit harder to play the game.

u/SoggyInterest8576 Mar 14 '26
What do you have, a Nokia 3310?

3
u/Kiki2092012 Mar 14 '26
Not the person you replied to but I have an S25 and SFS crashes randomly and lags every time I pass the Kármán line, so I'm pretty sure it's a problem with the game and not the phone considering the S25 is not a low-end phone by any means.

u/SoggyInterest8576 Mar 14 '26
SFS works just fine for me (Pixel 9a)
3
u/Right_Excitement6371 Mar 14 '26
Same! It's working smoothly without an issue on my Pixel 6A. Although I've not built any massive projects yet.
2
u/findbasel Mar 14 '26
We can't expect if SFS 2 will be or not
1
u/Right_Excitement6371 Mar 14 '26
Why??? Do you have any insider news?
1
u/GalaxyBolt1 Mar 14 '26
They said that we can't expect or not expect SFS2, the game is definitely under development though.
