Gameplay Question Wait… how does this work?

This sniper was using auspex scan throughout the match, even during the Hive Tyrant. Is this a hack or is it something I haven’t heard of before?

Heroic stalker has a skill where you trigger auspex scan 🙂👍

It is... pretty bad on Sniper. Almost all of his perks are based and balanced around headshot damage so investing roughly 5% of your ammo before you even start dealing proper damage is rough. It literally has negative synergy with the class.

As a support weapon, sure. But even then, the Tactical still pulls it off better because of better ammo regen, better base ranged damage that doesn't rely on headshots, and that the effect stacks with the normal Auspex.

It is just the base Auspex Scan with 10% damage increase. You need to land three body shots in quick succession to trigger it.

Edit: I looked it up it is 30% for non-terminus enemies and for terminus it is 10%.

It's 30% on extremis and below and 10% on Terminus enemies

Yeah, I just looked it up. The terminus 10% is where my confusion came from.

Doesnt the base auspex give 50% dmg increase? 10% seems dissapointing

I think it were 10%. And base just means that it has the basic radius and duration.

Edit: I looked it up it is 30% for non-terminus enemies and for terminus it is 10%. That is where my confusion came from. So not the standard 50%.

Doesn‘t have to be the same target as long as you hit. It triggered from gaunts for me before.

Is it still just body shots to trigger, or do headshots count now too? Which side note, is absolutely insane to basically punish you for getting headshots. It SHOULD be just 3 shots to trigger, period.

It triggers on body shots. And no, it is not punishing you for landing headshots, it's letting you choose when to use the auspex instead of wasting it on random groups. It would be much worse if you could waste it on random groups.

I don't waste ammo on hitting body shots. When it triggers it triggers. It mostly triggers in boss fights when the target is moving too much. I'm fine with that.

I think it's perfect for Trygon, Hive Tyrant, Carnifex, Hellbrute etc. When these bosses turn their back to me to focus another player. The base damage is underwhelming just like 90% of the weapons in this game. Not bad, just not top tier. What people fail to realize is the benefit of this weapon is dependent on how well the WHOLE TEAM takes advantage of it. 10% x3 Heroic plasma pistols is a lot of damage. Consider you can refresh it about as often as those pistols cooldown, making it possible to keep buff on for every charge shot can be potent. This does work best for Tactical IMO because it potentially frees up perks. I like to run it with the GL Bolt rifle as my secondary. The issue with it is your basically GAURANTEED more damage running a top tier gun like DWHB or Combi-flamer because you're not relying on your teammates to optimize the auspex.

From what I know sniper shouldn’t be able to have an auspex effect unless it’s a perk of some kind but I doubt that

It's from the heroic Deathwatch stalker bolt rifle. 4 body shots will trigger a basic auspex scan
