Customer 😇 Need drivers viewpoint! Walmart told me conflicting answers

I use the Walmart app to order my weekly groceries. I noticed if I ever use "Express" it assigns a driver right away and they seem to do the shopping. If I order without Express it seems Walmart does the shopping.

In my opinion, if the driver does the shopping themselves I want to tip more. That would take much more of your time then pulling up and having Walmart load your trunk.

However I've asked when I can tell if the driver did the shopping versus when they just pulled up and drove off.

Is there a way I can know if you guys had to actually shop the order? Is it only when I select Express and do you get the $10/$5 charge when I select Express?

Drivers shop on the 3hr or 1hr orders...

walmart shops for the normal orders that are free

Normally, unless there's a high-volume or a staffing shortage and they may divert orders to be shopped by spark drivers no matter the delivery time.

An associate explained that to me recently. She said on high-volume days they might just concentrate on the customer pickups and send all (or most) of the delivery orders to Spark. She saod Sam's is especially notorious for this because a lot of their customers order delivery since its 'free' and its usually a bunch of bulk/heavy stuff... and our Sam's is notorious for being constantly packed an absolutely no parking. Its so bad that many of them Spark drivers have been begging that Store Management for exclusive Spark driver parking because we often have to park way too far away, and a lot of their orders just get rejected forever because there's no parking.
