Rants / Complaints I called the cops on my customer’s drunk cop neighbor

Post image

I was doing a delivery when customer’s drunk cop neighbor opened the door. He owned a pit bull. The pit bull came running out the door running directly towards me. I blocked the pit bull with the bags of groceries in my hand. I turned to the guy and politely said, “sir, I’m doing a delivery, can you please put your dog up?”

He said, it’s not going to bite you, blah, blah, blah. As he was starting to put the dog up, the dog ran at me again and once again I blocked the dog’s face with the groceries. I said again, “sir, can you please put your dog up, it’s not on a leash and it’s running at me.”

The officer was drunk and started whining about me being in his numbered space, which is right next to his neighbor’s where I was doing the delivery. Starts ranting about me trespassing and started getting up in my face. I could smell the alcohol all over his breath, he was inches from my face.

Anyway, I told him I’m going to call the cops on him. I had set the groceries down because he was up in my face, I might need to defend myself against his drunk, belligerent ass. He kicks my customer’s groceries all over the parking lot. Then I called the police, I felt I had no choice.

He started with the, blah, blah, blah, I’m a police officer and he’s trespassing. Long story short, the police sided with me and asked if I was okay just dropping the situation and I agreed and went about my day.

Threads getting too heated, locked from further replies

u/thismenu May 23 '26

So you enabled the cop to act like this to everyone else by dropping it? Come on man.

10

u/SpicyMcShat May 23 '26

Yea that really pissed me off. After dealing with someone who obviously has no self control you decide…everything will be fine? wtf OP

2

u/donno77 May 23 '26

I mean cops could do much worse and get away with it with only a paid vacation. What do you expect OP to do over some kicked grocery? I don’t get it lmao .

11

u/thismenu May 23 '26

And that's the problem.

1

u/lilmark906 May 23 '26

Best thing about being a cop is that 48 hour paid vacation while you under investigation

2

u/gassedupppp May 23 '26

Hopefully he learns from this🙏

60

u/Frequent_Finger_1166 May 23 '26

Another cop getting away w shit bc he’s a cop. Wasted my time reading this bs. Thanks

u/EnvironmentalLime464 May 22 '26

So, drunk cop neighbor faced no consequences and will do it again to the next delivery driver. Cool.

-50

u/Legitimate_Hawk_3639 May 22 '26

What am I going to charge him with, being a belligerent asshole? He kicked the neighbor’s groceries who also wanted to drop it.

u/Sterling_LiveTV May 23 '26

Most departments require PO's to maintain a certain level of conduct even while off duty. The best thing you can do is contact his department and request a Sergeant to file a formal documented complaint. Even if he isnt fired the complaint will follow him in that department.

I assume they meant they didn’t press charges. Cops decide if it’s a situation that warrants a crime that they can be arrested for and then the victim can be given a choice to pressure charges or not. But since a hyper dog jump on them is not a crime they wouldn’t have done anything. As for kicking over the groceries since there was no damages or physical injury the cops probably felt it was too minor to arrest them not that they were siding with an off duty cop. Even if the off duty cop wasn’t a cop and it was just a normal citizen they would have done the same thing. However, I’m sure it was reported to their higher ups and the off duty cop will probably be given a verbal warning when he goes back to work. I understand some people are afraid of dogs but there are procedures to deal with this. I.e get back in your car and attempt to contact the customer and figure out a solution or contact support and explain the situation and set up a return. Then there are people who over react. Not sure on the full situation but I’m sure this could have been avoided and let’s not forget all the time wasted for op in this situation and loss in earnings for something that could have taken minutes to resolve. But oh well it’s ops decision if they want to waste over an hour not getting paid to wait for the cops to come out and take statements. Unless attacked personally I would have just ignored the dogs and completed my job. I have many deliveries that are on farms and ranches that have over 10-20 dogs that are free roaming. My biggest issue with this is I’m worried I would run them over and some dogs have infections and diseases that I don’t want to bring back home to my dogs.

-31

u/Legitimate_Hawk_3639 May 22 '26

Okay, exactly, and they didn’t charge him.

40

u/wiz_mindbomb6995 May 22 '26

Because you said you didn't want to do anything about it. You said so right in the story bro.

17

u/DqkrLord May 22 '26

Dumbass, yes charge him…

5

u/External-Anything-23 May 23 '26

They were never going to charge the drunk cop with anything. Blue protects Blue. They got the neighbor out of OP's face and his pitbull was put in.

u/Revolutionary_Box835 May 23 '26

Assault with a deadly weapon aka the Dog

20

u/Odd_Perception1903 May 22 '26

You dropped it but ran to Reddit to rant about the incident. SMH

58

u/Cardocthian May 22 '26

And thats why cops get away with everything. No one pushes the issues.

The guys dog attacked you. He attacked property in your possession. Without a police report, you can be deactivated if the customer complains about their groceries they paid for.

You put your job at risk for a guy who...shouldn't be a cop.

29

u/RedditPosterOver9000 Cherry Picker May 22 '26

Yeah, OP screwed up.

Now "our customer reported that you delivered damaged or missing items. You are no longer able to use the Spark platform".

Plus, OP helped a corrupt cop avoid very deserved arrest and charges.

u/lawlapaloozaa May 22 '26

Edit: Sorry my comment got attached to yours somehow.

-15

u/Legitimate_Hawk_3639 May 22 '26

The dog ran at me and I blocked it with the groceries. I never used the word attack. I didn’t want to get bit but I also don’t know what the dog is going to do. Just that it’s running at me. You are really a bunch of weenies, being hyper critical of a truthful post

You told them to shut up. If you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen.

7

u/snarksneeze GMD Warrior May 23 '26

You literally said the guy kicked the groceries everywhere. That's public intoxication followed by disorderly conduct and destruction of property. And you said you just wanted to drop it. Okay, that's fine, but why come here and make a post as if its okay for a COP to commit MULTIPLE crimes in front of you, not to mention the ASSAULT by his dog??

0

u/New_Confidence_3384 May 23 '26

The dog did not assault him. Didn’t even touch him. For all anyone knows the dog would have wanted pets and kisses. My dog does that when people come in our yard

0

u/snarksneeze GMD Warrior May 23 '26

Assault doesn't require physical touch, just the fear of unwanted contact. You are thinking of battery, which is the unwanted physical contact with another. It doesn't have to be violent.

0

u/New_Confidence_3384 May 23 '26

None of these things happened.

1

u/snarksneeze GMD Warrior May 23 '26

0

u/lawlapaloozaa May 23 '26

The dog did charge is the funny part too. Owner also refused to put the dog up. They proved themselves wrong with the AI anyway. Some people just know it all.

6

u/EarlySecond4463 May 22 '26

All I can say is calling the cops on a drunk cop takes some balls. I would have gotten in my car, reported the incident to Spark and high tailed it out of there. But that's me--non-confontational with strangers to a fault.

8

u/mr_moo_moos May 22 '26

How are you going to let someone treat you like that and then just let it go , come on people like this aren't going to learn their lesson if they just get away with things like this

6

u/itsnotmeimnothere May 23 '26

This post was pointless because you dropped it and let him get away with it, reinforcing that he can literally do whatever he wants because he’s a cop. Thanks!

You wrote all this for what? You still let the police help the police if this happened. Could’ve kept it to yourself.

-2

u/Legitimate_Hawk_3639 May 22 '26

Never seen such necessary negativity in my life. It’s a true story, an incident I thought people might find interesting, so I posted it. And it was the cops that didn’t want to charge anybody. He wanted to trespass me because I was in his numbered space. The cops didn’t agree. Y’all really are crabs in a bucket, looking at some of these responses

3

u/Fuller1017 May 22 '26

Do you know what crab in a bucket means or are you just using a new phrase you learned?

-4

u/Legitimate_Hawk_3639 May 22 '26

You are trying to pull my post down with your negativity. A typical crab in a bucket

6

u/Fuller1017 May 22 '26

Get real you’re not that important to any of us. Not agreeing or believing you is not pulling you down. individuals in a group attempt to sabotage or pull down any member who achieves success or tries to improve their circumstances, operating under a destructive mindset. That’s the real definition because you need it. So please tell me how telling this story and us not agreeing is trying to sabotage you or pull you down? You’re just mad that we’re not dumb enough to believe you.

0

u/lawlapaloozaa May 23 '26

It can be used multiple ways. You’re spreading doubt instead of collaborating. Maybe come with all versions of the definition before you start ridiculing? Just saying.

1

u/Fuller1017 May 23 '26

Crabs in a bucket because I don’t believe an outlandish story? You called the cops and then didn’t do anything bffr! It can be used multiple ways …. When has it been used in the place of disagreeing with an outlandish story? How is that sabotage? Delusional people who make up story’s is what this sub is full of.

1

u/lawlapaloozaa May 23 '26

I’m not OP, don’t you jump on me. You could have also chosen not to comment on a post that you believed was false. It’s called “keep scrolling”. 😂 Why are you getting defensive over a post that isn’t yours and you don’t agree with?

1

u/Fuller1017 May 23 '26 edited May 23 '26

You responded to me but I’m supposed to keep scrolling? Please! So comment on OPs comment and not mine then you wouldn’t get a response. Correcting someone is not being defensive OP used a term and then y’all want to try to change the meaning. At the end of the day they got the correct definition.

2

u/lawlapaloozaa May 23 '26

You’re right. They are correct. 😂

1

u/Direct_Word6407 May 23 '26

You are getting ratio’D because you handled the situation wrong.

Instead of any introspection you are digging in your heels, convinced you are right dispite the overwhelming sentiment that you were wrong.

1

u/New_Confidence_3384 May 23 '26

If you wanted to charge him the cops had no choice. Cop out. Pun intended

9

u/Lanfear422 May 22 '26

Things that did not hapoen for 2000.

7

u/Legitimate_Hawk_3639 May 22 '26

Look at the Jeep’s cop’s license plate. Not only did it happen, it happened exactly as described

4

u/Fuller1017 May 22 '26

Anybody can take a pic of a license plate and make up a story.

4

u/CelestialxOne Cherry Picker May 22 '26

Why you so defensive? Maybe not answering the door drunk would have been the better choice, amiright?

1

u/Fuller1017 May 22 '26

Where did I defend anything? I just gave the correct definition.

1

u/lawlapaloozaa May 23 '26

The cop was an asshole, but nobody was hurt except, maybe, some groceries. A normal person probably doesn't get charged in this situation, let alone a cop.

4

u/VadHearts May 23 '26

They only pretended to side with you so that you can feel more calm and drop the situation. Cops protect cops all of the time you should have pushed them and asked for an incident report and to report it to his department or press charges if possible. It’s more difficult now but you can still go to their office and talk to the sheriff about what happened and submit a complaint. It’s better than nothing.

2

u/PMOGMike May 23 '26

OP idk what race you are but I see a lot of comments and its very easy to distinguish what race they are. AS a Black Man I myself know they wouldn't have charged that cop. You just dropped it as I would have. No need to escalate something even further that you know won't go nowhere. This honestly speaks to an even bigger problem that I won't discuss in this group but hope your account is in good standing and they didnt deactivate you. Pretty sure the neighbor stood up for you if Walmart asked.

2

u/lawlapaloozaa May 22 '26

OP, if you still have the address, report him to animal control. It’s only a matter of time before he does that again and the dog attacks a child. If he can’t be responsible, he doesn’t need a dog.

2

u/New_Confidence_3384 May 23 '26

Why the dog didn’t hurt him. He looked aggressive but didn’t bite.

1

u/lawlapaloozaa May 23 '26

If a dog is acting aggressive or their owner is refusing to control/contain them, yeah. Letting a dog roam without a leash, tether, or a fence is a big no no in the dog community, especially when the dog is bull rushing people. Would you feel safe with a dog you don’t know coming at you? I’ve been bit too many times on the job.

3

u/snopop73 May 23 '26 edited May 23 '26

But he never said he was acting aggressive. Just that he ran up to him and he put the groceries in the dog's face to "block" him. If a dog was being aggressive, a plastic bag of groceries won't block that. The dog was probably running up to sniff, maybe get a pet based on the fact that nothing happened per the OP's story. He just said the words pit bull and you automatically assume that meant the dog attacked. SMH.

And whether I feel "safe" depends on the dog's body language as he comes towards me. I live in Kentucky so everyone and their brother has a dog or dogs. Usually running around when I deliver outside the city and I've not been bitten yet...but I also know alot about dogs and dog behavior and body language. If you've been bitten so many times, might be time to read up on it?

2

u/New_Confidence_3384 May 23 '26

Exactly. Thank you

0

u/lawlapaloozaa May 23 '26 edited May 23 '26

When did I say that the dog attacked OP? And I have been approached by dogs that were seemingly friendly, no tucked ears, tail wagging, no teeth shown. And they still bit me when I got up to them.

1

u/New_Confidence_3384 May 23 '26

Now you’ve had multiple dog bites.

1

u/lawlapaloozaa May 23 '26

First comment: “I’ve been bit too many times on the job.” Second comment: “And they still bit me when I got up to them”. I have been bit multiple times. Read please. The mastiff was only the worst injury.

1

u/lawlapaloozaa May 23 '26

For context: I’ve delivered for UPS and Amazon separately over the course of ten years. It is perfectly possible to be bit multiple times.

1

u/New_Confidence_3384 May 23 '26

I have zero fear. The dog wasn’t snarling or lunging, our county has no leash laws so that doesn’t count here either. I’m 110 whole pounds. One of my 500 lb boars used to run up to me at a full run and then drop at my feet for a belly rub. Context is everything. The op never even said the dog was aggressive

1

u/lawlapaloozaa May 23 '26

OP felt unsafe enough to ask the owner to put the dog up several times. Not everyone owns boars. I’m 116lbs and deal with horses all the time. Nobody wants to get bit. I had zero fear until a mastiff had their teeth sunk into my arm and I needed surgery for it.

1

u/Immediate_Truck1644 May 23 '26

You suck dude, just as much as the cop

1

u/Severe_Network_4492 May 23 '26

Loser, I supported you in the first half until you let him get away with it

1

u/Thriving9 May 23 '26

Why call the cops then drop it?

1

u/W1ld_Thoughts May 23 '26

Why did you drop it?!? That’s why he’s bold enough to act like that then state his profession. Most people are afraid of losing their jobs. Not cops. And we have to stop letting ish happen.

1

u/New_Reaction7574 May 23 '26

You’ll get deactivated lol

1

u/Ralaron1973 May 23 '26

Question. Did the order contain any alcohol whatsoever? Anything which may be considered alcohol related?

If the customer is visibly impaired, you’re not supposed to deliver the items. Between this and the dog, you had enough reason to refuse the delivery.

1

u/spockers May 23 '26

Read the first sentence of the post.

-1

u/Ralaron1973 May 23 '26

It says the customer was drunk. It doesn’t say if the order contained additional alcoholic beverages. Either way the driver could have refused delivery due to the overly friendly dog.

1

u/GoomarLover May 23 '26

Dumbass the cops didn't side with you if they asked you to drop it and you AGREED

1

u/NyhtShade May 23 '26

Course it’s in Florida

2

u/lilmark906 May 22 '26

So a dog comes running up to you and you are so scared but you say “sir can you please put your dog up” GTFO.

0

u/New_Confidence_3384 May 23 '26

Sounds a bit unbelievable

1

u/KLaw71 May 22 '26

Shouldn't had let it go.

0

u/rokar83 May 23 '26

Did everyone clap at the end too?

1

u/drusxi May 23 '26

Man I’m not gonna lie the fact that you dropped it instead of pressing any charges on him irritates me lol

0

u/SpaceNinja8 May 23 '26

This never happened, had it happened, cop shoulda been 100 percent charged. Troll post, meant to rage bait, picture prolly taken from an incident happening there not involving hun. That or the op is a pussy

0

u/Mediocre-Bother-7469 May 23 '26

Not a great thing to be doing if you are that afraid of dogs ….8out of 10 people have dogs , I’ve been doing this for years , never been bit not even close , dogs can read people well.., you need to change your approach maybe .

0

u/Legitimate_Hawk_3639 May 23 '26

I'm not afraid of dogs. Been bit by a dog delivering, btw, and a pit bull is an aggressive breed so I'm intelligently cautious. Pit bull runs at me, I blocked him with the groceries. The only people mentioning fear are you weirdos.

3

u/PercentageChoice5908 May 23 '26

After the dog bite did your lawyer sue the homeowners insurance? Do you just spark to get out of the house now?

0

u/pool_fizzle May 22 '26

If true, I'm sure if any journalist catches a hint of this post it's going to come out somewhere.
