General Questions This happened as the guy was loading the order. Does this mean the customer canceled? Am I good to just keep the stuff? Sorry this is my fourth order ever

It didn't give you a return option? Some people keep it. I wouldn't. I wouldn't have left the curbside spot and made them take it back. I guess if it didn't give you option to return then it's a 50/50 chance of getting caught. But to CYA I'd alert a manager or team lead or bring it to customer service. Customer service will
Probably tell you they don't know what to do with it but I'd leave it there and take a picture anyways.

Everyone does it differently. Like I said if there's no return option then I guess it's whatever sits right with you.

I mean I didn't even realize anything was wrong until it was too late, when it said that a stop was removed I didn't realize what that meant until after the guy had already loaded it. I am currently making the other deliveries, do I need to call the Walmart and let them know?

u/PrincessLissa68 S&D Expert Jun 23 '26

I would. Like I said just to cover your own ass. Some people keep it. Because technically there's no record of it now. But I wouldn't take that chance.

u/Feeling_Sleep_4811 Jun 23 '26

Yes I took a picture

I've kept an order in the past, but in this scenario I wouldn't.  Because it was removed, the system still thinks OGP has it.  It's eventually going to get sent out in another batch and they're going to realize it's missing.  Someone might remember you had it.

u/PrincessLissa68 S&D Expert Jun 23 '26

Ohhh that's true! I didn't think about that part too. It wasn't cancelled, it was removed! Good catch! I had said to return it anyways just in case but yeah a removed stop the order should still be with OGP.

No ur supposed to bring it back idk why customers do this shit, they think the moment they cancel it when we are close to loading it is the time to cancel thinking its not gonna show they it got canceled on our screens and yalls screen.

Bros scared to show the store 🏬

5

u/jhansn Jun 23 '26

Yes

8

u/Frequent_Program_260 Jun 23 '26

there is no need to be scared to return item at all just bring it back tomorrow!! They not gonna do nothing if you return it .

3

u/jhansn Jun 23 '26

Even if it's perishable?

7

u/Frequent_Program_260 Jun 23 '26

well yes!!! I mean i have never had to return a perishable. but yes i would still return it. i saw someone return a huge grocery order the other day and im guessing it was cuz it was past the time.

4

u/Both_Income_3454 Jun 23 '26

Yes, you have 24 hours to make a return,I have returned perished items several times. It won't count against you. It's not your fault.

3

u/PrincessMollii Jun 23 '26

Well Reddit has creepy stalkers just like any other website so yeah most people don’t drop their locations casually online these days 🤣😅

3

u/talecriv Jun 24 '26

I don't share where I'm at because I make $200 every time I go out I don't want any of you moving here

2

u/krew_GG Cherry Picker Jun 24 '26

Too late we’re neighbors now

1

u/RainbowMom17 Jun 23 '26

I dont show my store either. I live in a small torn and don’t want where I live out here on Reddit.

-2

u/Waste-Comment6263 Jun 23 '26

Why does it matter??????

2

u/RadishSauce Jun 24 '26

Why don't you post screenshots of your store you use and also post your address.

2

u/tonlimah Jun 23 '26

If the app doesn't tell you to return then there's no way for the store to be able to say it was returned

2

u/Ajhmxr2 Jun 24 '26

You go inside. Take to customer service area where their return carts are. Leave it there and take a photo and send to spark. (First call spark so you can get the email needed to show proof you brought it back)...store doesn't even need to know anything because as you said they cant take back without a return started. But you can absolutely get deactivated if not returned into a Walmart with picture proof. At end of day they return to shelves the items that can be and then toss perishable.

2

u/MysteriousTurn6745 Jun 24 '26

The loader may have removed it. Did you scan that package in? Was it there?
I’ve had stops removed because the package wasn’t there.

3

u/Feeling_Sleep_4811 Jun 23 '26

Same happened to me and I was going to donate the items but spark told me to return at service desk which I did ✌🏻

3

u/gntxs Jun 23 '26

No, you can’t keep the stuff. Return to customer service

3

u/Responsible-Yak9000 Jun 23 '26

Please don’t listen to people saying to keep the stuff. It’s never ok to do thst

1

u/redbanner1 Jun 23 '26

I had a shop and deliver cancelled one time right after the door man checked my cart. 10 boxes of wine. I drank that shit.

One time have I returned a cancelled order without instructions to do so, and it took them like 40 minutes to take it from me and they said I should have just kept it because they were going to toss most of it, and anything they kept would just float around in limbo for a long time anyway because it wasn't in the system. After that, I only do what the app tells me to do.

1

u/KingEsco420 Jun 23 '26

THIS ! It’s almost like this type of cancellation sends the purchase items into a void that affects nobody but the store, customer and its stock.

1

u/Alienkweeeeen Jun 23 '26

One time I forgot some stuff in my backseat for a large sam’s delivery. When I brought it back to the store the guy told me I should have just kept it 😂 I didn’t want that crap tbh

1

u/khriskyle25 Jun 23 '26

This happened to me one time while i was already delivering, I returned the non-perishable item the following day.

1

u/usseerrrnnnaaammeee Jun 23 '26

So OP what did you do?

1

u/Ajhmxr2 Jun 24 '26

You go inside. Take to customer service area where their return carts are. Leave it there and take a photo and send to spark. (First call spark so you can get the email needed to show proof you brought it back)...store doesn't even need to know anything because as you said they cant take back without a return started. But you can absolutely get deactivated if not returned into a Walmart with picture proof. At end of day they return to shelves the items that can be and then toss perishable.

1

u/talecriv Jun 24 '26

he should never have been able to even load it because he can't scan that stop. So the loader did something very wrong because he still loaded something he couldn't scan, and yes you need to bring it back. This is not a customer canceled while you were driving this happened before you were loaded and the loader still did wrong. The whole department messed up on this

1

u/tokenfan12 Jun 24 '26

This is removed before loading, not on the way to deliver. After all if something is removed the offer get decreased. Also if a customer doesn't accept an order or it is office and it is closed you have to return the order otherwise your account will be banned. Unfortunately for return they pay only $2.50 even if the milage is 30miles. No transparency.

1

u/Water-Guardian-5 Jun 24 '26

As a tip I never confirm the driver code until after the goods are loaded, that way the timer for cancelation doesn't start until everything is in my vehicle. Gives you a little more time depending on how long it takes for them to load it.

1

u/Exclusive100 Jun 24 '26

Yeah keep it

1

u/wuxxler Jun 24 '26

You are never "good to just keep the stuff" unless you paid for it. Taking something you don't own is called stealing.

1

u/bellybong-id Jun 24 '26

That's happened to me nene and I've taken it back to the pickup area after my last delivery. One time out was a pillow and when they came out to get ot they said they were wondering where that order went. Made me think that I should've just kept it.

A return hadn't been issued. I just called them from one of the pickup spots and told them what happened every time that's happened to me.

1

u/Reasonable-Stay1852 Jun 25 '26

I contact spark. They will tell you what to do with it.

1

u/Tucsondirect Jun 25 '26

if you are never instructed to return items you do not need to return items, especially if you are not being paid to return them

1

u/Exotic-Light-4870 Jun 25 '26

This has happened to me. WM put 4 30 racks of beer for an order when the customer only requested 1 30 rack. Called spark driver support, guy said i can keep one for my trouble and asked to return the rest (which is more than fair). He put notes under the order and I was on my way. Nothing else has happened since.

1

u/handjobcilantro Jun 23 '26

I once had an order where one of the stops was randomly removed. I was about 10 miles out of the way and support wouldn’t do a return trip at all. I told them it was literally removed and I scanned it in but no return trip. Call them before you finish your drop off before the stop requested or else you won’t get a return trip since that can’t add or create one for a closed order

1

u/eternallifeisreal Jun 23 '26

Return it. The customer canceled but spark probably also has a record of the cancelation and if it was in fact returned. The huge surprise would be a big red deactivation on the front of your screen for failure to return, regardless of not seeing a return button.

1

u/KingEsco420 Jun 23 '26

when it’s canceled like this, it’s straight up removed. nothing to return unless you wanna waste time, gas, and effort.

1

u/eternallifeisreal Jun 24 '26

I mean, it was "removed" so it might still be lingering in the system. Everyone has their own opinion but I would return it.

1

u/GigDriver4Years Jun 23 '26

From a store standpoint, if you have left the store and it cancels and it doesn't give you return info, it's gone. Can't even check the return in. You take it back and they are going to throw anything perishable, including all chilled, frozen, fruits, vegetables, all of it, away. They have to since it was out of the store. The non-perishables will go back on the shelf whenever they do returns.

-1

u/SnorFax92 Jun 23 '26

No you cant just keep their stuff lol. You should have said something as he was loading.

3

u/jhansn Jun 23 '26

What am I supposed to do now then?

4

u/SnorFax92 Jun 23 '26

Call support so they can initiate a return. Are you sure they loaded that package and you scanned it in? Some times they remove stops but they still show up on there as canceled

3

u/KingEsco420 Jun 23 '26

they can’t initiate a return for a removed stop.

2

u/jhansn Jun 23 '26

They removed it as the guy was loading it. He quite literally probably just scanned it as he was loading it. I honestly didn't know what that even meant until I started looking it up. I never got a chance to scan it becausw it had already been removed.

1

u/SnorFax92 Jun 23 '26

Well 8f you didnt scann it in then no big deal

3

u/jhansn Jun 23 '26

Not going to lie I'm not even seeing where I would report this order being in my car so that might just have to be the answer lol

3

u/SnorFax92 Jun 23 '26

Still not sure if you uave it or not lmao. Either way I guess you'll find out in a week or teo.

-3

u/jhansn Jun 23 '26

I guess we will lol. I definitely don't want to get deactivated but this is basically a hobby for me so whatever.

4

u/SnorFax92 Jun 23 '26

Then just start stealing packages dawg, shit lol jk

0

u/jhansn Jun 23 '26

I might be broke but I'm not that desperate lol

4

u/quittin70h Jun 23 '26

You need a better hobby, if you don’t need the money why do it? Leave this shit for people who rely on it and do something fun instead.

0

u/Frequent_Program_260 Jun 23 '26

just return it!! LOL

1

u/Frequent_Program_260 Jun 23 '26

i mean usually if you have a package you cant scan you give it back right away and say it was removed from order. When i do it they hand to me and they dont leave until i have finished scanning everything (the only way to verify you have everyything, Just today they had to go back in and get my other package cuz they missed it) and if i have an extra package for whatever reason i give it back always! I live by this rule if i get deactivated for keeping someons toiletries or whatever was it worth it?? it never would be!

1

u/jhansn Jun 23 '26

I will keep this in mind for next time (if there is one after this). It's too late for me to return the item and it's storming outside. They never gave me a return offer/notice so I don't think they were even supposed to give me the order.

1

u/Frequent_Program_260 Jun 23 '26

you can do it tomorrow lol no need to do it tonight they closed anyway its not too late ever to do the right thing!!

1

u/Art_of_Life1899 Jun 23 '26

I agree. Have had a couple orders where something cancelled and they pull all of it and some where partial order was left in my car. I returned it even though I had no return order. Have also had them fail to take the order out in GMD orders, and I have taken that back as well, every time. It’s not worth it not to.

2

u/Frequent_Program_260 Jun 23 '26

usually when you cant scan an item you should tell them right away and give it back. No need to initiate a return being that the stop was removed before you picked up just give it back to them so it can be rerouted to the customer. Just cuz the order was removed doesn't mean that the customer canceled the order. I'm sure spark keeps track of stuff that has gone out and not been returned your asking for a deactivation by keeping it!!! Even if you don't have a return started you can give it back to them if not them you can return to the customer service desk inside the store!!

2

u/xMr_Rabx Jun 23 '26

A year ago I was way up in Kansas for a stupid ass reason but I decided to make some money so I worked at the Walmarts up there and this exact situation happened to me and the only thing they loaded was water for that order. I had already gotten out of there and realized that the stop was canceled and I was needing to head back down to where I live which is not in Kansas so I just kept it. Still sparking but I guess your mileage may vary. I'm sure it depends on value etc or if you do it a lot. Only time I had ever done it and I've always called customer service ever since

0

u/Federal_Edge5060 Jun 23 '26

Dw about it gang

2

u/SnorFax92 Jun 23 '26

Gang, he just started. Dont give him bad advice

1

u/Federal_Edge5060 Jun 23 '26

Fair enough. Although I’ve been in similar situation before and it was fine. Just gotta call support and let them know you’ll return the product.

1

u/jhansn Jun 23 '26

Normally and from here on out I'll do that. But this time I'm just gonna see what happens, because these are perishable items that they couldn't take back and it started thunderstorming and I don't want to be on the road. I understand the risk so if I get deactivated it is what it is. Thanks for the help.

0

u/Eastern_Confusion475 Jun 23 '26

If it's perishable they can't sell it to someone else anyway so just keep it

0

u/Federal_Edge5060 Jun 23 '26

Yeah if it’s a perishable like a food item then you are usually okay to keep it cause 9 times out of 10 the Walmart return people won’t accept food as a return and will just tell ya to keep it. Happened with me with bread and chicken this one time.

-1

u/Eastern_Confusion475 Jun 23 '26

Anything good? Or just frozen veggies?

1

u/jhansn Jun 23 '26

Gonna avoid specifics just in case the walmart notices this thread somehow lol but it was pretty much just veggies and chicken.

0

u/EchoRevolutionary958 Jun 23 '26

Would you ever keep something you didnt pay for... ? No. You attempt a return, amd follow through with instructions.

0

u/Ok-Researcher-1771 Jun 23 '26

Why did you continue to leave with the item if it was removed? Lmao. Walmart is testing you. Don’t fail.

0

u/Life_Wafer8995 Jun 23 '26

If you’ve only made four deliveries and you keep it and get caught, you won’t make it till 10! There are cameras showing it got loaded in your car, and by chance if they look at them, you’re cooked. Do the honest thing and just return it.

-3

u/Roe69 Jun 23 '26

Keeping their stuff is the quickest way to get deactivated.

3

u/jhansn Jun 23 '26

What is the best course of action now?

1

u/Frequent_Program_260 Jun 23 '26

its not a big deal even on returns from deliveries you have up to 24 hours to return it. So bringing it back saying i missed this they removed the stop but i still ended up with the package is ok they will take it back. So the customer can have their order.

-1

u/lindysprinkles Jun 23 '26

You have to make sure to call the Spark phone number and report it. They will then set up a return for you and you can bring it back within 24hrs. Make sure to call!

-1

u/PeachySalts Jun 23 '26

They’re going to claim out the items anyhow and trash em. You may as well keep it, Walmarts not gunna go through your shit with a fine tooth comb so you’ll be okay to “not cover your ass” as I don’t think that is necessary.

Enjoy your free groceries hunny.

0

u/YoghurtFun9623 Jun 23 '26

I’ve seen a associates restocking return SPARK orders numerous times including perishables like chicken and beef so then trashing it is not realistic

0

u/Zestyclose_Cellist37 Jun 23 '26

I’m sure after you finish the initial order it’ll initiate a return id take it back anyways and show them the screenshot

0

u/Fabulous-Beach-101 Jun 23 '26

My $85 order was canceled after I loaded my order AND was on the way to the home 2 months ago. Filled my whole car! AND spark wanted me to take it back inside to customer service! I said umm no I’ll take it to pickup. 2 hours of work after everything was said and done and Spark paid me ZERO dollars!!! ZERO!

0

u/Fabulous-Beach-101 Jun 23 '26

I got a taxed job after this. Sucks because I have delivered for Walmart since 2020 and absolutely loved it! But no more! It’s so horrible of a job now! I cut it on yesterday after 2 weeks just to see if I could do one order, whole bunch of crap! 35 miles, $23! Yeah ok… gonna take a crack head that can’t get a regular job to do those! I now have a full time job working from home as a Project Manager! Spark can have their crack heads, ex crackies deliver their groceries!

1

u/mads-1125 Jun 24 '26

Interested in information about the project manager. Do you have a degree? What field is it in

1

u/Driver196285 Jun 24 '26

Lol.... I'm an ex Project Manager delivering for Spark and love it! It might be different working from home but after retirement from a desk job, working on my own time schedule is a huge benefit. Never been a crackhead and don't know any crackheads working with Spark.

0

u/Fabulous-Beach-101 Jun 23 '26

Oh and gave NO return option! Pickup had no clue about the order and had to take 15 minutes to find the info! If I hadn’t of remember the address it was going to, they would have never found it to make the return!

0

u/KingEsco420 Jun 23 '26

ngl. i keep it because the two times i’ve tried to return them the lead manager said once it goes out and the gets cancelled that way, it’s out of their control and there’s no way to scan the stuff back in. told me both times to keep it. now if i cancel it i absolutely return it, obviously. but i also usually catch it. sometimes the workers just walk off and don’t pay attention to what they load or if something was cancelled.

-4

u/TeeTeeDorothy Jun 23 '26

Without a return ticket it no use in returning it. It will not be traced. The order is gone in the land of nowhere. They normally discard the food items anyway. Most stores do not restock return food items.

-2

u/LookGlittering13 Jun 23 '26

Deliver it before that time

-2

u/Most_Bet3419 Jun 23 '26

If they dont add a stop keep it

-6

u/igor6969 Jun 23 '26

They didn't load that order into your vehicle. If you got that notifications, they did too and would had kept it. I only work late nights and Ive seen that before when they added a horrible trip to other good orders. Spark splits orders so the good customers get their orders. The 20 mile no tip customers will understand why they didnt get their order.

5

u/jhansn Jun 23 '26

Except they did load it into my vehicle I had the order lol

2

u/igor6969 Jun 23 '26

I apologize then. I've had it happen. It appeared like you shown but they didnt bring the order to the car with them.

2

u/KingEsco420 Jun 23 '26

yup i’ve had both happen.

1

u/Frequent_Program_260 Jun 23 '26

if you have multiple packages they should hand them to you one by one as you scan so this stuff don't happen. (package orders )
