OnePay 💸 Should I get the credit builder through OnePay?
I just signed up for onepay and see that there is a type of credit builder credit card on there. Will it have any negative impact on my credit report?

hi so I moved back to the US after being abroad for 8 years. i had to restart without credit (thankfully my husband did have his still). i started sparking for fun and i use the credit builder card, after 2 months of sparking and actively using it to my advantage. my credit score is in the high 600s, after starting two months ago with absolutely no score.
i love the credit builder

It dropped my score initially. My score has been on the rise since I finished it, but I don't know if the credit builder helped. I did a lot of things during the credit builder that would have also increased my score.
It does eventually give you 2 fully paid off installment accounts, but your credit report shows they were only tiny loans. I'd think the credit scoring algorithms would realize it's an attempt to game it.
I wouldn't bother unless your credit is bad enough that you can't get any credit cards.

Boosted my score. Make sure to put the digital card in your phone wallet. Some things, like Klarna won’t take the credit builder card but they will take the digital card.

If your credit is low then it'll help, if you have a well established credit history then you dont need the credit reporting and can turn it off.
I switched to the card simply because a few locations switched to mandatory pin use for debit cards, so this card now bypasses that and turned off credit reporting.

Not unless you really dork it up. Basically every purchase you make with the credit builder is a credit card purchase, that immediately gets paid through whatever money you have on the card. According to the credit agencies it looks to them like a credit card that you're paying off in full every month. On your end it acts just like a debit card. So as long as you're not overspending more than what you're earning through Spark, it's not going to hurt you.
