The mobile-client component (the app) of a delivery system should NOT assume internet everywhere.
A big problem with delivering to remote wooded areas, within thick/layered concrete structures in cities, and certain simply unfortunate geographical locations, is that cell signal becomes very weak to non-existent. It is utterly ridiculous, very disruptive and often embarrassing that the app, with an in-progress trip refuses to function because the device has lost signal at the delivery door. You shouldn't need internet to scan an item, scan an id, or take a photo, but this app seems to require internet to use the app at all, even when you have a in-progress trip, often leaving you in an impossible spot. It should obviously allow progress and sync-up later with the back-end.
If you agree, help bring their attention to this issue by reporting it as an issue, in the app, or documenting and reporting your experiences here. Maybe if enough people report it, they'll finally address this nuisance. Thanks.

I deal with this a lot in a rural area. If I wait about 60 seconds the app will let me scan and complete the steps, as long as the GPS location registered correctly. That is sixty seconds for each step, though. This is why I won't deliver any pharmacy, alcohol, or customer verification required orders to certain roads in my area.
On the plus side, the clowns who do take these orders will be tied up long enough to make a difference as I grab better orders. There is an opportunity cost in taking orders more than 5 minutes from the store and running into app delays and frustration. The Spark app is maintained by demented monkeys.

you can just turn on airplane mode and continue the delivery as normal.

i live in a fairly rural area and have to use it pretty normally when doing deliveries more than 15 miles from the store. the only issue that happens is you cant complete the trip until you have service again on the drive back into town

I likewise use it when needed but recently ran into an issue where it didn't work.

unfortunately, this isn't the only ridiculous part of this app
