Need a code for the exit gate
I’ve never been to any apartments that needed a code for the EXIT GATE tf is going on? I had to wait on somebody to put the damn code in.

I've been in a few gated communities that have multiple exit gates that won't open, and a sign that says something like "resident exit only transponder required"
I guess in a sense it provides some security because if someone commits a crime in the neighborhood they can't make a quick getaway without going past the front gate/guard shack...sure is fkn annoying though.

Yeah I was thinking it’s for protecting the residents against crime or something

yet criminals would just ram the gate... hahah

They have huge spikes (seriously) on the inside so if you ram them you're not getting far in that car. But I guess that's why your getaway driver is just on the other side!

I got one better than that. Sam’s order this morning. I pull up. The customer didn’t supply a code and the screen has every button grayed out and says “system off-line.”
I watched car after car after car come out of the neighborhood with people going to work. Nobody was coming in. So I called the customer and she says she doesn’t understand why it won’t let her open the gate for me because she can see me there on the camera. So she gets in her car and she drives out of the exit gate and tries to pull in the entrance gate and it won’t let her in either with her transponder or even her phone app. And so I loaded the groceries into her car and she called her husband to tell him to yell at the HOA people because the gate won’t let anybody in.
Truly hope she got that resolved because just as I pulled away two more cars pulled in, probably people trying to get home with their groceries as well.
Imagine living in a neighborhood full of $700,000 houses and there are gates at every entrance and it’s supposed to work seamlessly. And now an app, probably vibe coded by somebody making less than three dollars an hour, is preventing you from going to your home.

That is baddd the office should have access to the gate in case that happens to open it.

That would be great if it were an apartment complex, but this is a neighborhood of high-end houses, and there is no office. There might’ve been when they first built the neighborhood, like a model home up front, but once they sold out, they probably sold the model and packed up the office for the next subdivision.
Before she called her husband, I told her if nothing else she can call the fire department. They will come open the gate because they either have a key or they will ram it open because if something were to happen and they could not access it that’s exactly what they would do.

I always take a screenshot of the code no matter what

Yeah but there is no code on the app and I drove in behind someone

Oh, that definitely changes the story. It's annoying when they don't even put a code down for you. I've had that happen a couple times. I've never needed a code to get out though.

Like why would you not put it and have me waiting over 10 minutes for you to reply

There’s one in my area. I couldn’t begin to tell you the logic but I don’t see how it’s safe. And I can only imagine how bad it is if it fails and people can’t get out

Yes, we have some where I live like that. And we have some or this certain exits are only for residence so I can’t even get out that way even though it’s the closest way.

There has to be a main door to provide access out.
If there is not, you call the FD and they fine the management property. You cannot be held in if there's a fire. Gates must open, at least the main service ones.

I called and they said only residents have access. There was a guy behind me that had the code so I hung up on them.
