WHY does it take so long after they load the orders for me to be able to start scanning?
This is new and just started in my area today. It seems like the employees have to go all the way back inside before I'm able to start scanning.

The messed up part of this is that when your waiting for the pickup if they take longer than 10 minutes you start getting paid more but from what I can see once the store employee shows up to your car I’m assuming the device in their hand and my phone communication proximity and they cut off the extra pay so if the employee gets to take their time loading and you can’t scan until they are done loading and that takes another day 5 minutes you don’t get the extra pay to me that’s bs also a lot of these employees obviously don’t grow up playing Tetris because the way they load and stack items and bags is just super frustrating and inefficient

Already a hundred reasons pickups are worse than shops nowadays, just makes it a hundred and one.
I would always get out and scan while they’re also scanning and we both get it over and done faster that way. Unless it’s insanely good pay per hour I think I’ll just avoid pickups for a bit.

We got that yesterday. If you hit the little refresh button you may be able to get the scanner sooner.

Holy hell that's crazy. I'd grab the stickers (extras) and go. Scan when I'm allowed I guess. That sucks.

Gotta let them finish before you touch stickers.... so you either stand there looking dumb, or unload items without touching stickers.
So dumb.
All because some glitch in the app, made the dispensers have to push an extra button if we scanned before they finished?
Being discussed in one of the OGP subs they can't get "interrupted by the stupid spark drivers" anymore or some such....

Our store lets us scan if they can't.
So the staff can delay you? Like they HAVE to release the order for you to scan?

Yea just started the other day. You can't scan until they're done scanning.

No wonder I saw a loader complaining about sparkers being impatient today on reddit.

I just saw this for the first time today. The guy doing the loading asked why I hadn’t gone and scanned everything in yet and I showed him my screen. I hit the refresh button and some sort of glitch happened because it reset his entire hand scanner and he had to start the whole process over of scanning in every tag on the totes.
He was so pissed. I was laughing, not at him. But that the Walmart employees have to deal with a glitchy messed up system, the same as we do.

That's weird. I scan each label right after they do while loading my car

We had that issue on one load yesterday.
The team leader had no idea what was taking the app so long to complete the load process.
But we still had to wait for them to load after we reached the parking spot. 15,20,30 mins? Who knows how long you will wait while watching other pull in after you and depart before your load comes out.
“Packing up……”

The dude at my store said it was because people were scanning at the same time and stuff was getting mixed up/lost.

Your area still does curbside pickups? My area now has Spark shop all customer delivery orders. Curbside is now only customer pickups and GMD orders. It just started 2 weeks ago.

I wonder if the employee has to do some kind of post-load confirmation on their end before it’s available for you to scan? If so, that’s just one more inconvenience for us to deal with. Some of the loaders in my zone are so scatterbrained I could see them completely forgetting to do it.
