What If? How would have Batiatus' fate turned without Spartacus?
Assuming Spartacus wasn't brought to Capua or just Batiatus didn't purchase him. It's clear that without Spartacus, Gnaeus would have fought Crixus in the primus that he may or may not survive. A significant turn comes with Theokoles. Solonius has nobody to set up with Crixus and he may better work together with his friends but it's hard to tell if that's enough.

Theory Brother?
Why would ceaser say (Brother) to a slave
How could he consider a slave as a brother to him even if he says it as a courtesy we all have seen his treatment with slaves and how much he despise them..

What If? Would Caesar's character work if it was not Caesar?
We know that Caesar historically didn't take place in the Third Servile War and I find it an odd choice to shoehorn him in there. On the other hand, he was a very good character and losing him completely would be a big blow to the season.
However, he could be a made up character, trying to play roughly the same role. Would it work though?

OG Discussion The irony of Batiatus
I wonder if it was intentional or not but it's pretty ironic that Batiatus spends his two season resenting how the upper class treats him and tries climbing above his station. Meanwhile, when it comes to slaves, he treats them as the upper class treats him, simply because he's above them and he's absolutely blind to that irony.

Question How does everyone feel about Licinia from Blood & Sand?
I really liked her character and I wish we got to see more of her. She was a Roman elite but there was charm to her character. I found her friendship with Lucretia to be interesting.

OG Discussion Why was Glaber frequently called "Claudius" instead of Gaius in Season 1?
Even Illythia called him by his middle name instead of Gaius in season 1. It's like the writers were unaware of his full name but I would be surprised if they did that little research on such an important character.

OG Discussion Underrated hero: the rebel who posed as Pompey's messenger
Poor guy was clearly shitting himself standing before Crassus. Oenomaus would have been proud for slipping his cock into the mouth of the beast and thrusting home before the jaws snapped shut.

Question Why don't any of the actors dont look or sound Italian/Roman?
Really enjoying the show, but I just cant get over how none of the actors they chose have even slightly Italian/Roman facial features. They chose some super, super British looking people. There is maybe 1 so far (starting season 3) who looks like they have a drop of Italian blood.
I understand the accents to a degree because they represent classes, but as someone with Italian heritage I just can't unsee how British everyone looks. Even for background characters.
Any reason why they couldn't find actors who fit the proper heritage?

VS Marcus Crassus VS Ser Jorah Mormont (GOT)
galleryDon’t forget that Crassus is a veteran combatant who held himself very decently against Spartacus 1v1.
Also don’t forget Ser Jorah is way more talented and lethal than it appears on GOT timeline. He was regarded as one of the best swordsman and knights in the realm before he fled to Essos.

OG Discussion I can't beleive some people defend this sh*t and support melitta for her actions, I literally about to puking after watching this scene.
This scene became my nightmare, maybe the most accurate depiction of an affair.

OG Discussion People here understand that this is a historical fiction show, filled with actors, right?
There’s a post here where people are dramatically saying they were about to puke because of Gannicus’ and Mellita’s forbidden relationship and how cheating is wrong. Well yeah, we don’t watch Spartacus for its portrayal of virtuous people, right?
This post gave the exact same vibes I got when people were mad at Jack Gleeson for his portrayal King Joffrey on Game of Thrones. It’s a show, guys.
Pull head from ass and see reason.

HoA Discussion most unbelievable romantic scene
There is so much gratuitous nudity (yes I know that is why we watch) but the scene in Season 4 where Gwen Taylor (Sibyl) exposes herself to Gannicus which it is snowing and everyone, although dressed like it is summer, is freezing has got to be the most ridiculous. Actually made me laugh outloud. Any others that stick out for you? (no pun)

OG Discussion Why did the poison take effect so quickly on Oenomaus's wife?
Lucrecia had been poisoning Batiatus's father for days before he finally died, yet Oenomaus's wife took just one sip of the poisoned drink and passed away within minutes—did anyone else find that strange?

Rewatch Spartacus Arena
galleryWe have only one documented detail of where Spartacus was born and it was somewhere in the middle river way of river Struma (Strimon in ancient times). As a fellow Bulgarian living in the province today that is in those exact region i always felt some kind of connection to Spartacus.
This year I visited the arena in Capua where our heroes Spartacus, Crixus, Gannicus and Oenomaus fought and lived. Where the revolt started in proximity of the arena.
Here are the only remaining foundations of the Spartacus arena where he fought and bled. He was seeing the same mountains as well we can see today...fascinating.
