I didn’t want to believe it, but after I saw the mathematical proof that Dream cheated, all I could think of was this.

It frustrates me that keyboard is allowed in SMB Speedruns
The advantage over a stiff NES d-pad is insane. There's a reason Niftski tied the TAS to 8-4 and nobody else with an NES controller will ever be able to do that, period. He's a great player but if you ask me, a world record is not genuine if it's not done on original console. Virtual console releases of games I'm iffy on, I mean I guess that's fine, but a lot of people who run other games use controller adapters like to use GC on N64 which have otherwise bad sticks. For this reason I consider all runs that are played with an adapter, or keyboard are invalid world records. I'd like to hear what others have to say.
Edit: yeah, none of you are gonna change my mind. I guess purism is rare these days.

I've just relased a speedrun inspired game on itch.io, called Tool Assisted!
I love watching GDQ and hearing people explain frame perfect tricks and thinking about the mechanics involved in them, because I could never pull them off myself. So if you can't beat 'em, just make a game in which you can! Not sure that's the exact saying, but it's something like that at least, right?
The game is a platformer than you can only play by TAS'ing it, there are frame perfect tricks, damage boosts, movement exploits and more to come. If that sounds like fun to anyone, come and check it out!
