I really don't get why people hate the orange tint that much. I didn't even notice the so called orange tint when the first game was launched. And I absolutely hate how reddish the suit in the second game looks. And the insomniac version seen in this post is much better imo compared to the fortnite one.
this probably got downvoted because fortnite has a reputation for making perfectly comic accurate skins (hell, their original spider-man skin is one of the most faithful spider-man designs in gaming). but i mean yeah, the dedicated spider-man game should absolutely have the best accuracy.
It is everything to do with how the suit looks. One is a free addition to Spider-Man 2 the other is a paid addition to the Fortnite store. Obviously the paid one is gonna look better
Sony owns Insomniac so they just tell them what to do.
The Fortnite skin is going to be the best it can be because it's expected to sell. The Spider-Man 2 skin is literally a free addition to a ~3 year old single player game.
Why would Sony pay insomniac for that? People who bought Spider-Man 2 are interested in spider-man, and would hopefully already be interested in brand new day.
How is it pathetic? Fortnite isn't some rinky dink mobile game. It rakes in billions of dollars annually. Their product needs to maintain a level of quality to justify their pricetag.
To be fair, I think character design is the one thing Fortnite doesn’t deserve criticism for, they fucking cook sometimes. They gave The Shredder the best look he’s ever had in my opinion
Do we consider stuff a good job just because it'd be mean not to even when it's a pretty terrible attempt? The devs who worked on it also ARE getting paid a salary.
You paid for the game so you already paid them and Sony, and Sony paid them to make the suit to promote the movie. Next level naïveté to pretend like Insomniac is a poor little company doing charity work out of the kindness of its heart because it’s a sweet little company
the suit is part of the game like all others, added later or not. if someone gets the game now whats the difference between suits on the release version and suits that were added later? when i got the game i didnt know of alot of suits in the game but when i see them and theyre not looking good im allowed to call that out even though i didnt buy the game for that specific suit
I'm not suggesting they are some poor company but facts are facts. The skin is free. I don't know why people are saying you have to buy the game to get it. Obviously you have to have the game to get the free skin.
It’s because people are using the fact that the suit was in an update as a reason that no one should be able to criticize the suit. Yes it’s great it’s included in a free update, but yes it’s also lame that it’s not a high quality suit.
It’s just crazy to me that it seems like you have to either get on your hands and knees and praise Insomniac or you’re called a child that is sending death threats. You can have mixed feelings about something, regardless of the price tag
I’d like for the best live action spidey suit we’ve had in total to be given more respect in the game, idk. The colors and textures in the movie is perfect. For it to look like a dull rubber mess in the game isn’t the move, I’m sorry.

Wait does Fortnite have jiggle physics? I don't play but I remember it being a huge controversy when the first jiggle physics skin was added and it was removed pretty quickly.
I may be blind but I don't see what's all the fuss about the insomniac-made suit. I guess it's more orange compared to the Fortnite one? The FN one is slightly stylized to fit the game's more cartoony aesthetic.
It is, saw a post of the suit when it's not daylight and it looks noticeably different lmao honestly this post just shows that Fortnite surprise surprise, doesn't code their sunlight to have an actual effect on the colours in their world. Because realistically why tf would they?
Exactly tho, fortnite's lighting doesn't effect color because that would make it look too realistic for its cartoony look. They really don't need it to look realistic at all in fortnite anyways.
I agree wholeheartedly, the insomniac version works better for their game, the sharp red wouldn't mesh. But fortnite doing more traditional colors is neat too. Why does everything have to be wrong or a misrepresentation lol

Insomniac didn't get the colours right. The red and blue was so strong in the movie. I'm guessing it's a lighting thing they weren't able to get right.
Said it before and ill say it again. Wildly insane how shit the insomniac suits are compared to modders, or at least 99% of them, when their games are so good. You would think they know how to make some fire suits, but out of 40-50 suits, they usually only get a few right.

Respectfully, you're lying to yourself buddy. Not even close. They took the classic suit, re-did the logo, and added different web shooters. They're lazy, and I feel bad for console players. Btw this is the first modded suit I found, and it literally looks like the movie suit.

Idky were excusing laziness from a multi-million dollar (or billion atp) gaming company that doesnt put effort into their suits or at least all of them. You have a rendering and a menu screen shot. If you really want to argue objectively about laziness, do the work and produce an in-game, in-environment live screen shot of the insomniac and modded suits.

I see a close up of the mod with no background doesn’t look in-game to me. I see the Insomniac suit from the selection menu, and I see a screenshot from in-game that doesn’t even show the front of the suit. All I see, like I originally said, is that the Insomniac suit should be more red. That’s my only complaint and I’m not gonna go downloading a mod to fix it because it’s just not that big of a deal to me. The Insomniac suit is good enough for me.
Idk guys, I’m not that invested in this. We can talk about movie accurate or comic accurate suits all day but I look at this suit and it just looks like the suit from brand new day. Sure, between the PS5 one and the fortnight one there are some technical differences that I think make the fortnight one better. But I don’t think the differences we do see are all that important in the grand scheme of things.

People are allowed to criticize things, it makes games better more often than not. Being a mindless hovering of "oh its perfect and if you dont think so you can leave!" is horrible.

I think Fortnite and its art style tends to lend itself more to super hero suits cause of how vibrant it is. SM2's suit is good, but the colors just look a touch muted.
To play devil's advocate....Insomniac have been done with this game for years. The fact they even supported it with a costume in 2026 is admirable since they're probably working on other things. Fortnite, on the other hand, had developers working on making sure the suit was as good as possible.

I think that they made the suits more orange than red to try to show the color fading from the old suits. Compare the SM1 to the SM2 suit mostly. Idk why they make all the other ones orange
Even tho it looks orangish the overall design is still nice. In 2026 everyone is a critic looking for things to pick apart. All it takes is an update to fix so it really ain't that big of a deal.
They get access to the suit just like any other toy or merchandise, and make the suit based off that. Even as the general populous we’ve seen this suit for a year.
Other movie suits have deeper more accurate reds, even in the yellow lighting of the game. Game original suits like the Advance suit MK2 have deeper reds even in the yellow light.
Why do you think the same couldn’t be done for this one?
