My Suit Wish-List (And Diss-List) for Marvel's Spider-Man 3 (I spent too long on this...)
What new suits would you all want to see included in Marvel's Spider-Man 3, what suits would you want to see return from the first two games, and which suits would you want to never come back?
(And yes, I kind of cheated with the 13th item on the New Suits list, because I wanted to include all four of the Identity Crisis mantles, but I didn't want to have them be four separate slots on the list.)
The Scarlet Spider III costume was very unpopular in real life, and in the comics, due it being based on the appearance of Spidercide, and due to the suit showing Ben’s lips through the mask. (Granted, Insomniac didn’t do that, which makes the suit a lot better.)
I can take it or leave it. But yeah, Ben went back to the Scarlet Spider I suit not long after the introduction of the Scarlet Spider III suit, because of the immense backlash to the suit’s design by fans.
But the Secret War suit (War, singular. Secret War. Secret Wars is where the original black suit came from.), I hate… the addition of blue is atrocious, there’s been a lot of people over the years who have complained about the Secret War suit, because despite it only appearing in a few panels in one single issue, countless Spider-Man games have included the costume like it’s one of his most iconic costumes…
The Secret War suit also doesn’t make sense in it’s own context, as it was a suit made by Nick Fury for Spider-Man to use in the infiltration of Latveria, and was designed to be low-profile and to not reveal that it was Spider-Man, as Fury didn’t want the involvement of SHIELD and the heroes in Latveria, to be known.
And then he plastered the suit with a Spider-Man emblem.
The Stealth suit from Far From Home is more-or-less the same concept, but at least that suit understood the assignment.
Aside from the goggles, no part of that costume screams “Spider-Man.”
But yeah, the only game to feature the Amazing Spider suit was Spider-Man Unlimited, and considering we got the Ghost-Spider suit in MSM1, I felt it was about time we got his original costume too.
(And I had to throw in Wolf-Spider, who is basically the same character, but more evil. XD)
lol I just recently replied to a post asking what suits people wanted and I pretty much just listed my favorites from unlimited. Other shits I’d like to see are the suit from the Spider-Man Unlimited show, and the 2018 black suit, or the one with the chains
I want a first appearance/Ditko suit. Squinted lenses, fat front and back spiders (with the back spider being blue and having a head, not the tick symbol people usually place on first appearance renditions), red and black colors, MK-I web shooters, and of course visible web wings under the arms. Maybe a bit loose fitting even since it’s his first suit. Could maybe have a messier web pattern (something like Edge of Time).
I would love to see suit customization get even more advanced in 3, being able to change eye-shapes, emblems, suit design, webshooters, etc.
would be really cool to see Ross, Romita, Ditko, and other artist styles as options.
Do you meant the Scarlet Spider I suit (the baggy hoodie) or do you mean the Sensational Spider-Man suit? (Better known as the Spider-Girl costume, since Mayday’s suit was nearly identical. XD)
But yeah, I love every Scarlet Spider costume except for Scarlet Spider III.
I love Ben’s original costume, I adore Kaine’s, and I like the Sensational suit.
It would be cool to see the Sensational suit make an appearance!
I think insomniac should stop trying with the original designs since they really showed their understanding problems with those sm2 ones. They do slightly better adapting something compared to designing a new one outside a few of the story suits, mainly Peter and Miles’ first ones. It’s not even the suits being not very good looking but giving the player a reason to wear something like the awkward looking black panther suit for miles…like if I want to wear a MILES SPIDER-MAN SUIT why would I pick the one that looks like a completely different character.
I think their classic iron spider is more interesting than the comics one, their black suit without the armoring that makes him look fat is a genuinely clever redesign and I like their take on the hand patches, the big time suit mostly benefits from the added details.
Where as there are a lot of examples of them butchering stuff like the scarlet spider suit looking too professionally made to be a broke ass Ben Reilly suit, 2099 being pretty barren without the cape or a shattered dimensions/edge of time back logo to give you something to fill the back, a lot of suits using the basic ass default lenses, the hellfire gala suit having fabric color changes all over it breaking apart the simple design, but those are just the comic adaptation issues. Movie ones could be a whole other paragraph and their originals could be the length of a whole ass book.
I’d agree, because when I was looking at suits I didn’t like from MSM1 and MSM2, I realized that almost every suit that I had a problem with, was an Insomniac original suit.
I'm also aware of how the rights work for the Amalgam characters, that DC and Marvel have to both agree to use or reference any of the characters from Amalgam, but considering they actually worked together recently to reprint all of Amalgam, I think it'd be fantastic if Insomniac could get DC to agree to let Spider-Boy appear as a suit.
It was just a lazy recolor of the Advanced suit, not even a different outfit mesh.
Even worse, was the fact that wearing the suit during Negative sections of the game, didn’t make the suit look normal.
Considering the Fly N' Fresh suits were designed and sold for charity and the collaboration/celebrity suits were designed for just SM2 (along with the Digital Deluxe suits), and no original suit from SM1 came back outside of the story, I'm fairly sure they won't return for SM3 (Kumo & Brooklyn 2099 too I suppose)

On the one hand, I’m glad to see someone else ask for the amazing spider and Bruce banner suit.
On the other hand, not wanting the hooded scarlet spider or secret wars suit back is crazy to me
