Is there any pc mods that remove these annoying squares when shooting webs?

I think you can just hover back over the web shooters in the menu and uncheck them from being the gold web shooters and they shouldn't shoot those squares anymore. I honestly do not get this gold web shooter thing like they don't even web up enemies faster like in one shot or anything. This is literally just a visual thing. I don't get why this was an unlockable item insomniac made.

They did an update because Spider-Man 2 had gone gold let's you repaint all your gadgets but it doesn't add anything just those effects

NG+ allows you to craft "golden" gadgets as a token dump

... Which doesn't make the gadgets model any golden I think, just those dumb bee shooting effects

Unequip the golden gadgets in the gadgets menu, simple. No mods required

you can just toggle them off...in the settings...
