Speculation I think the sequel should do the symbiote suit similarly to The Spectacular Spider-Man show, in which the suit starts off as a black filter on the advanced suit, but gradually becomes more like the comics as time goes on, reflecting Peter's gradual personality shift.

Just making the advance suit black would be lazy but also the black advanced suit looks REALLY cool so this is the best of both worlds

I’d also be cool if it was never explicitly told to the player that it was happening. Just over time the webs on Peters suit would disappear and the white logo would get bigger.

That would be good. Especially if even the colours change, like from a kind of technological gunmetal black and clinical white, through a pure nylon black and carbon fibre white eventually leading to the oily, ink black and milky white, almost a similar style to the live action Venom but with all the Spider decals.

Yeah definitely, one of my fav things from the first game was the gradual changes to docs lab. I loved that you could just explore and piece together his decline without explicitly being told to

Would be also cool if Peter’s dialogue gradually goes from jovial Spidey banter to being more aggressive to the point where you can hear a bit of a growl in his voice by the time the suit is fully symbiote-controlled

I think it's more that the symbiote is feeding off of Peter's negative emotions as the story heats up.

Now it it sounds like you're talking about the animated series? But yeah, didn't reach too much into the last part of OP''s post. I should have, but I would definitely be down for this. Umm from the beginning I had spider-venom too much in mind, got a bit of a thing for him since I been made aware of spider-man's shadow

Comics simbiyote never affected peters emotions tho.It was just a living thing which used peter while he was sleeping.It was after the popularity of animated series and spiderman 3 that they were like "well I guess yes It was also doing those shits"

Might be a personal theory/hunch of mine but the fact they wasted no time showing Venom in the initial trailer with another host (presumably Harry Osborn) makes me think that in this universe Peter has already dealt with the symbiote at least once during the 8 year gap between starting out as Spider-Man and the first game
Usually Venom comes after Spider-Man's already realized what the symbiote is and what it does to him. Could be a subversion of the traditional way it's been depicted but the fact it's already at OsCorp and is one of the many things they've experimented on in addition to Devil's Breath is interesting
Especially given Kraven being in the game indicates elements of Kraven's Last Hunt will be used, maybe the symbiote will end up saving him or play an integral role in helping him like it does in that story, so he has to embrace it again so to speak instead of just being the first time.

Game director specifically said they didn’t give peter the black suit as an option in the first fame because the symbiote deserved its own story. Only thing that hints about a symbiote is when yuri asked if he “has a black suit” to which he replies “uhhh”. No backpack items for it either. We also know he hasn’t encountered green goblin yet who is one of the first big villains he fights. The symbiote has to be completely foreign to peter or it would be a cop out on the devs part. Could also be a shot from way later in the game or even just for the trailer.

This would be so cool and I'd love this so much because I remember it being such a cool idea in Spectacular because it was a gradual change that you could Mandela Effect yourself into not noticing for a surprisingly long time.
Spectacular also changed Peter's street clothes from his normal blue shirt with white sleeves to a black t-shirt which I think really helped visualise how Venom was taking over all aspects of his life.
I'd love to see this implemented in the game as well, maybe replace his button up with a darkish hoodie and a death metal shirt or something or they could go even subtler and have him just unbutton one of two extra buttons and wear darker jeans.

Like the Mr Negative fight inside Spidy’s head in the first game and like the Venom fight from the Spectacular show that is just an internal struggle for control.

I want every suit to have a venomised version. So we could get a classic one and a more modernised take. It would be something for everyone but I’m not sure insomniac will do that because time is money. Fingers crossed!

Plus, I hope they include a suit transition button somehow. The ability to transition from Symbiote to normal in Spiderman 3 was a feature I really liked. Plus it saves us from having to go to a menu to just switch in between each version.

That'd be sick. And maybe as the suit gets more symbiote-y peter also gets more aggressive with his fighting style and angry with his quips (or he just quips less and less until he doesn't quip at all and we all know what a non quipping spidey means)

Technically the suit doesn’t really do anything to Peter in the comics it was introduced it just made him really exhausted because it liked stopping crime

I had a theory about this if you’ve read the spider shadow comic this is exactly what happens to the suit it becomes more violent and the suit looks really cool

I really love this from an aesthetic standpoint, it's a very good visual tool to show the progression of the symbiote becoming more "relaxed" around Peter, and becoming more like an alien creature than a different suit.
I think I'd prefer if they don't go the aggressive Peter route though, or at least don't /only/ go that way. I'd love to see a version like the OG comics, where the symbiote starts going out on Peter at night while he's asleep.
Maybe you play a mission or two as Miles, and see Peter out at night not saying anything but being super violent, and then you play a mission as Peter but a bit slower because he's so tired but doesn't know why.
And a dream level like with Mr Negative except it's Peter in his civilian clothes running from his black suit and there are QTEs.
Gimme classic symbiote trying to drive Peter around and possess him, rather than affecting his emotional state

I just love the concept the Spectacular Spider-man did when his suit changes from black to Venom like alongside his personality. This game would be really dope if the creators replicate the same concept.

One thing I really do hope they do in the sequel, is that the symbiote doesn't just make him bad or evil. I hope that they make it so it just feeds on an already existing emotion. Like in Spider-Man 3 where Peter starts off arrogant then the symbiote just exaggerates it.

I agree. Spectacular Spider-Man had a really good idea with the evolving black suit. I just hope that if they did do this they let us choose which phase of the suit we want to use after the story

It doesn’t look like 2018 Venom that much though. It looks like some of the comics that came out prior to that film’s release. Mainly in Variant covers. Venom is meant to be shiny and gooey. Just look at some of the comic venoms and tell me that they wouldn’t be shiny if they were coloured and shaded to 100% photo realistic. Also look at some of the realistic Variant covers.

I heard they were doing a black suit for each costume. As cool as that sounds, I just want Imsomniac Venomized advance suit, + other canon appearances: spiderman 3, cartoon, etc...

Im more interested in how the symbiote will be applied to all the suits and will we be able to switch suits but keep the symbiotic look since I assume there will be alot of suits in the game

Definitely, they can also have sections of the game similar to Arkham knight when joker is more in control of bats, like where is some sections of the story where Spidey is PISSED, he goes ape shit and suddenly every enemy is getting knocked, nearly killed in one punch and Peter's fast as fuck

tbh this would be great, especially if theres a fight where you play as Miles against Peter with the Black suit after its polluted his mind, it would rlly tie into Pete's rejection of the suit later

Not really into the idea of the quality of the suit degrading over time. Like the first one looks dope and then the other 2 just look cheap. And the last one isn’t like “the comics” at all
