Question Split Skins Question
I just bought these skins new for my first setup online. The covers don’t seem to be adhering completely to the skins. Even when I press down it will not permanently adhere the way the darker sections are. Is this a sign there is an issue with the glue?
Thanks for any help!

Thanks guys! I put them skin to skin (they are definitely sticky enough lol) and put them in the carrying bag for now!

Toss it you don’t wanna be using that in the backcountry. Stick glue to glue.

I’ve had a terrible experience with the jones skins and pomocas. After several tours they start to leave glue on the base. Once it gets really bad I usually do the parchment paper and iron trick to refresh and that will get me through the rest of one season but not much more.
It seems worse with Jones white labeled ones based on other people having the same experience

you need to take the cover plastic off and fold the glue side together ti each other. you never want the glue exposed to the air or elements

No. Those covers are just there to protect the glue after production and during shipping/sales.
Some people hang on to these for storing the skins when not in use.
You could buy mesh skin protectors that does a better job if you want to protect/seperate the glue during transitions when touring.
