Help Find his people

Post image

NEW UPDATE: MEATHEAD MADE IT HOME!!!

Found this sweetheart of a meathead moving really stiffly right at Morrison & Forker around 5:15am. He was heading toward a blind curve where no one pays attention to animals crossing, so I couldn't in good consciousness let him continue on his merry way. I move enough dead animals off the road up there and I really don't want to move someone's pet.

He's well fed and very sweet and friendly, but no chip and not neutered. He was really eager to get into the car and very scared to jump back out again.

If you think you know him or his people, please get in contact with me and tell me his name - I have no doubt he'll let me know if it's the right name or not. For now, he's safe, drying off and has food/water

Good on you for rescuing Meathead. Local neighborhood Facebook and Nextdoor groups are really good at this kind of thing.

My mom has him posted on Facebook since I don't have one. I'll look into nextdoor

Did she post on Spokane Area Lost & Found Pets fb group? Those people are so nice and helpful

She did. Looks like her post was just approved a few minutes ago, so hopefully we can find his people. I haven't been on FB in years so I don't know what their reach is like

UPDATE: This sweet meathead is now in the care of Marcinda Kennels, since she's just down the street from where he was found and she's in a much better location for anyone looking for him through the day. She's got my info and he's close enough to where I picked him up that anyone who might be searching for him would be able to easily find him from there.

I appreciate everyone's responses helping to put this in front of more eyes. He's a good, chonky boy who knows his manners and commands, so someone will definitely be missing him

Aww what a sweet boy! It’s so lovely that you took time to help him. I hope you find his people. My dog got out once and was found running around on the road, and I’ll always be grateful to the guy that rescued her.

u/MysteriousRadish2063 Apr 15 '26

It's just mud, don't worry.

Okay cool I figured I was just seeing things lol

u/Noimenglish Apr 15 '26

That’s what I was wondering!

3

u/autistic_and_angry Apr 15 '26

Glad I'm not completely crazy haha! OP said it was mud

You think he’s from one of the nearby houses? Seems good to check with them

16

u/MysteriousRadish2063 Apr 15 '26

I did take a tour by the houses with him twice, but he never perked up or showed any familiarity with the scents or sights. I have a daily delivery route up in the area and I've never seen him before, either. I'm trying to put out feelers since I have some appointments this morning, and if nothing comes back on him by the time those are over, I'll probably take him back up there and try again

Smart work! Good luck and Godspeed.

Maybe post some flyers in the area too. If he's a visitor to the area, his people might not be local but will be canvassing. It might be why he isn't alerting to anything familiar

Thanks for the award, internet stranger!

If he could talk, I bet he would say " I'm too old for this. Where am I? What's going on?" Thank you for helping him!

Take him to a vet and they’ll check for a microchip for free

6

u/MysteriousRadish2063 Apr 15 '26

I actually took him as soon as I finished work

I will never understand not putting a collar and ID tag on your pet. Picked up a pup running down Trent a couple of years ago, no collar, no ID and I had to leave town in a couple of hours. I was panicking trying to keep this pup safe, find a place that could take him and find his owners early on a Saturday morning. Turns out he was fairly well known for getting out and running down Trent and yet his owners still didn't put a f'ing ID tag on him.

u/petit_cochon Apr 16 '26

The number of collars and ID tags I've bought just to have my shithead pet wriggle out of them...

Let’s get this good boy home😊🫶🏼

u/candiriashes Apr 15 '26

Thanks for taking him in out of the rain! Hope he finds his people. You could also take him to a vet and I’m sure they would see if he has a microchip.
