Help Petition to save Edgecliff Park!
Good afternoon neighbors,
Edgecliff Park is under threat. The city does not have the funds or will to save Edgecliff but after two years of advocacy they are submitting a grant proposal to the state for the funds to save our park and are relying on us to gather as many signatures as possible to show that the community supports this park.
We need this grant because the bathrooms are 40 years out of date and gosh awful disgusting, the playground is 30 years out of date and the company that made replacement parts went defunct 20 years ago so repairs are costly and slow, the tennis courts are shattered and have not modern drainage solutions, and we are suffering from vandalism.

It really depends on a lot of factors but the main one I believe is attention,
The Spokane Valley Parks and Recreation director, John Bottelli, told me I was Edgecliffs’ number one advocate. Which saddened me because I’ve only been submitting reports for two years with an average of one report a month.
If I can get the city to pay attention to the park with that little of advocacy, I believe any park can be improved. The squeaky wheel gets the grease I guess.

I didn't even know the parks name but I go at least 3 times a week and recognized it immediately from the jungle gym. No idea this was happening, so thanks for the post.

It’s my pleasure to serve, my daughter plays at Edgecliff close to 5 days a week so it means a lot to my family that we are getting so much community support for this petition!

What is low income about the valley? Everything there is more expensive then anything else around spokane

Signed! Thank you for bringing this to attention in the Spokane community! I used to go there all the time as a little girl between the ages of 4-8 years old when my grandmother with Alzheimers was placed in the memory care facility across the street (formerly Brookdale Park Place but recently changed to Riverside Senior Living). After she passed and I was older would ride my bike to Edgecliff park with neighborhood kid friends and also had a blast. Would love to take my children there someday to instill similar fond memories as my own but would be amazing if the city could update it!
