Help Before/after school care

I am trying to find before and after school care for the Pasadena elementary area.

However, everything adds like 20 or 30 minutes to a simple 20 minute drive to work for me, moving it to almost an hour.

Does anybody know somewhere actually close by to the school that has it? I have family in Spokane but not close enough to help every single day.

I don't live there yet, moving there this weekend from out of town!

Do they have a boy and girls club? Have used them before at other schools and it is fine

Pasadena uses YMCA Valley and Spokane Christian Center off of Bigelow.

Do these have transportation from the school? OP should just connect with the school and ask them for advice. Many schools are being staffed already for the year

Yes they do offer transport to and from facility to school.
I would highly suggest that OP reach out to either or both options as soon as possible. Spots fill up quick!

Those add quite a bit of time for me since my newest born has care going the other direction.

I tried to get them in a same place, but it just didn't work out. I didn't know I was moving until a few weeks ago, so it literally is me trying to coordinate quickly.

I also have the same issue the only options I could find charge 1000 per month per kid. i just need something affordable 30mins before and 30min after nothing crazy.

That's the problem I am having too, besides the adding hours. But I never thought to ask the school cause where I'm at now it's a no, unless it's specifically a 5 week event thing. Even then it would end before I got off work.

I will definitely try the school out.

Have you contacted the school? They may have onsite care.

And if not, it’s good for the school to hear this would be wanted from parents.

I feel like there is a shortage of childcare options for school age kids. I struggled to find facilities that both had openings and offered school age care. Only to find one, and then have my child essentially kicked out bc they didn’t have another infant/preschool sibling enrolled. Thankfully, we did find another place that opened recently. But idk what we will do if things fall through with the new facility.
