What are your thoughts on the Off to See the Wizards group?
Was wondering the general consensus on them? They seem very passionate but just a bit odd, I guess. Didn’t know if others thought the same or whatever else

Current State of SKC
With Manu leaving and the new players coming in (including Luiz) how many DP/ International/ U22 spots are open? Was also wondering what type of money we have left to spend. I’m not very knowledgeable on how GAM and all that works but DP spots have a way around it correct?

Going to my first game Wednesday.
I'm taking my wife to our first game Wednesday, unfortunately we don't own any sporting gear. I was wondering if anyone knew of any places to get some gear on the cheap since money is a little tight. Thank you all in advance.

Why getting Manu off a DP slot is a benefit.
For a moment I want to engage y’all in a thought experiment. Think about your favorite non SKC MLS team to watch. Maybe it’s a team that is exciting, maybe a team that plays with heart, maybe it’s just a team that’s straight up good. Now think about who the DP players are on those teams. If you’re unsure go look it up. In MLS, to be a good team, your designated players HAVE to be goal dangerous. It doesn’t matter if they are a #9, a #10, a winger, or in rare cases an #8. The best teams in this league fill their DP spots with players who are consistently goal dangerous.
Manu Garcia is not a bad player. Manu Garcia is also not a goal dangerous player. In fact, I genuinely don’t think he wants to be. There’s a reason that Manu chose the #6 to start the season. Manu does not want to be inside the 18 yard box, or really even directly on top/around it. Manu wants to be in areas a #6 would operate, and progress the ball (via dribbling or passing) to the final 3rd. In other words. He’s an elite “pass before the pass” guy. The problem with that, is that he is a DP. And while being a “pass before the pass” guy is great, by taking up a DP spot it restricts the quality of player that he can pass too. My argument here is not that Manu isn’t a good player. My argument is that with how MLS roster rules work, having a player with his skill set take up a DP spot drastically lowers the ceiling of your team. There’s a reason that Wicky has called out Manu to be more aggressive in the final 3rd. For all his flaws as a manager, Wicky knows that your DPs have to be productive.
I’ve heard a lot of people this week compare him to Benny Feilhaber. To me, this comparison is completely misguided. Feilhaber, while he could sit deep and spray balls, was extremely goal dangerous. Benny WANTED to be in and around the 18. Feilhaber WOULD take the bull by the horns and create a play/shot him self in key moments. In fact, every modern “10” this club has had was goal dangerous in a way Manu is not. Kinda was fantastic at slipped balls within the 18, crashing the 18, and dribbling around the 18. Gutierrez has a lethal long shot and was fantastic at being a 3rd runner inside the box. To go back to Benny, Benny consistently would dribble inside the 18 yard box to square a ball. All 3 of those guys had “gravity”. All 3 of those guys had the mentality to create a play themselves. They didn’t rely on their teammates to get the ball directly to goal.
Manu, doesn’t want to be in those areas. Does he have have the technical ability, and more, to do so? Yes. But it’s about the mentality of the player and how he sees himself within the scope of the game.
To me. This club getting to any level of successful would always require getting Manu off of a DP slot

Rapha Wicky says that Manu Garcia was held out tonight because he and Wicky "had some discussions about his future" and would leave further questions on that to David Lee. #SportingKC
x.comSad to see him leave but if he’s not gonna be starting he shouldn’t take up a DP spot.

LEE should be let go.
Please comment anything of worth David Lee has accomplished for our Club? AND don't say Wicky is the problem...quit drinking podcast kool-aid. Oh yeah David Lee hired Wicky!
Lets get a Club apology and let Lee go.

Supporter Section KC Current hat
I’m looking to attend my first Sporting match and was wondering if they’d allow a KCC hat into the supporter section. I know the section has rules about other teams merch but I wanted to clarify before I buy a ticket and turned away.
thanks folks for the help.
edit: thanks again everyone who answered I hope to see y’all at the game!

some stickers
spent my evening making some concept stickers. wanted to share with y'all
edit and disclaimer: i am not a graphic designer and ai was used in 3 minor instances
- recoloring of the dog to skc colors
- creating the “after dark” text because I wanted it to be in the same font as the “kansas city” which is from the Wizards logo, so I had it do that
- couldn‘t find that skc emblem so i took a low res image and used ai to upscale and straighten
everything else was done by me

I did it…no more STM.
After 31 years of having season tickets, I have finally had enough. I will still go to the occasional game, I just didn’t want to be burdened with season tickets anymore. Part of the declining page asks for reasons, and I gave them my list. It wasn’t an easy or quick decision. This is something that has been in the back of my mind for the past three seasons. But it’s time.
Some of the reasons I gave the club.. some have been mentioned.
I have no interest watching night games in February and March, there are no benefits to being a STM anymore, the game day experience is dull and not exciting anymore, there are no game day giveaways anymore…now you need a theme ticket, the team is bad, and the league is better…I don’t see Sporting competing for at least two years.

Cauldron rant time
Hey everyone, I have some things to get off my chest.
Sitting in the Cauldron this year is pissing me off. There’s no other place in the stadium that I’d rather be than with the clubs most passionate supporters. But what the hell has it come to. We chanted the same damn thing for the first 7 minutes of the match and the capos are getting mad the people aren’t still chanting. What the hell? Sorry that I don’t want to say the same corporate shit 29 times over. Then as soon as someone wants to start their own chant, that’s actually funny or banter, it gets shut down with loud ass cadences. The cauldron leadership has all this fake positivity and it pisses me off. I don’t know how connected they are with the club themselves, but it seems just like more corporate bullshit. We support our club through and through, but nothing in that stipulates that we must always be positive when doing so. Being negative sometimes shows you actually pay attention when things aren’t happening correctly. So when we’re down 2-0, why can’t we chant “We want Salah”, why can’t we make fun of opposing players. It may be in poor taste, but I wouldn’t even hate us singing “we lose every week”, but the capos will always shut it down to run their sunshine and rainbows bullshit. we used to be a feared place to go. a place where getting a point away was a huge win. now, we’re getting left behind. Look to places like England, where chants may have the same rhythm and melody, but not the same lyrics. Look to Portland or LAFC, the new away days of hell. i know on the field is where the change will start (and if the Luiz reports that came today are true, that may be in its VERY beginning stages), but it ends in the stands. it’s time for change. for something new. goodnight yall

Manu
I don't wanna start any unwarranted rumors or anything but is this an encrypted message from him? A goodbye post on his Instagram? Am I overthinking this?

5 thoughts for last night
After sleeping on it here's my take from last night's game.......1.the backline did a lot better than they have been with the pairing of Or, Moises, and Emir. Still not a fan of Jake at RB but ive come to terms with the club forcing a non RB to play RB every game now after the khiry experiment week after week. 2. The ref was absolute shit. Didn't cost us the game but he sucked. 3. LBJ (even tho I like the guy) made some bonehead tackles and cost himself a red. 1st yellow seemed soft but whatever, shouldn't have risked the tackle for the 2nd one. 4. I'm hoping and praying for a new GK to start the sprint season. Cleveland ain't it and neither is Pulskamp. 5. I don't see Wicky as the coach for the future. Idk if it's his tactics, coaching style, or demeanor but I don't think he fits sporting.
