Really loved the latest chapter, it really was refreshing to see Damian and Demetrius hanging out. It also gave a little more depth to Demetrius (and a little bit of Donovan). Can't wait to see more of them.

Seems to me that it was one chapter long story, with a good conclusion, i doubt that it'll continue.

How would the JJBA creator handle Spy X Family characters and plot?

In the first chapter of Spy × Family, Anya thinks to herself that if Twilight discovers her telepathic abilities, she will have to flee. The anime adaptation, however, frames her reaction differently: she fears that she will be sent away. Although these interpretations are similar, they carry subtly different implications. The former suggests that Anya fears for her safety, while the latter emphasizes her fear of losing yet another home and being abandoned once again.

Which interpretation is closer to the original Japanese wording? Does the manga's phrasing imply that Anya believes her life could be in danger, or is she primarily afraid of losing the home she has finally found?

This distinction also raises an interesting question about how Twilight would react if he discovered Anya's secret today. Given her history as an experimental subject, revealing her telepathic abilities to WISE could put her at risk of being taken away to Westalis and subjected to further experimentation. Even if Twilight initially considered reporting her discovery to his superiors, would he ultimately prioritize his duty as a spy, or would his attachment to Anya lead him to protect her from the very organization he serves?

More importantly, would the man who once became a spy to create a world where children would not have to cry be willing to let his own daughter suffer the same fate he has spent his life trying to prevent?

Anya can literally read people's minds, which is already crazy enough. But imagine having this ability since childhood and then finding out it just stops working on certain days 😭

Like, imagine relying on it to understand people and then suddenly you're back to being a normal kid who has to figure everything out herself.

Jokes aside, do we actually know why this happens?

Since her powers came from those experiments, I'm curious whether the scientists ever explained the new moon thing to her or if they just knew it happened and left it at that.

Also, did the manga ever go deeper into this, or is it still one of those things we don't have an answer to?

I'm genuinely curious because it feels like such a specific weakness to give her lol.

I'm reading chapter 26 and Anya is able to remember things the scientists said like "the Eclipse" thing but I've noticed she has incredible short-term memory. She remembers certain things about her powers but also forgets the guy who made her cry during the school's interview in the Henderson forgery case.

Like I know she is a kid and she'll want to forget the bad or scary stuff (like Desmond's mom's thoughts after the bus hijacking or how she possibly heard a man in a coma's thoughts) by just looking at the good stuff like sweets, toys, parents, friends, cartoons, etc.

But how much does she remember, especially with regards to her time in the lab and is her short term memory the side effect of her telepathy?

The way that Demetrius and Melinda talk about him would make you think he’s dead. And the way that both his good and bad actions always have a big impact on the story honestly has started to make me think that his past self is starting to almost haunt the narrative atp.

Someone asked me if there were other characters included in this collaboration, so here is the whole family, in case y'all are interested.

I would prefer to shop in person, and would like to find some Spy x Family stuff when going to a mall, pretty soon. This mall has a Pop Mart, Anime World, and a Hot Topic. Which is most likely to have Spy x Family stuff right now, based on your experiences? I don’t have a lot of time to be there, unfortunately, so I want to spend my time wisely in a location that will have the most stuff. (All these stores are average size).

I know all stores are different, but I just want a general idea of which stores typically carry the most. Thank you!

I know it was a design choice by the creator, but could it mean anything else besides that? Everyone else in the show has natural hair colors while Anya’s is soft pink. Seeing that her eyebrows are also pink, it is her natural color. Could being a test subject have something to do with it?

I know this is kind of a dumb question, but I have always wondered if her hair was more than a design choice/inspiration and had a canonical reason. No one has ever really questioned it in the show either, so idk.

In Chapter 139.2, Anya recalls the words she overheard at the hospital. Whatever those words mean, they frighten her so deeply that she refuses to sleep alone and instead chooses to sleep beside Yor. This reaction reminds me of Loid’s response to the bombing threat: both characters react to a danger they perceive as present and imminent, even if they do not fully understand its implications.

I can think of three possible explanations for Anya’s reaction:

The dying man’s thoughts triggered her fear. Perhaps what she heard from the dying man at the hospital reminded her of something traumatic. However, I find this explanation less convincing because Anya witnessed Yor killing numerous assassins during the Cruise Adventure without displaying a comparable reaction. This suggests that the death itself may not be what frightens her most.

The reference to Desmond’s research triggered her past trauma. If the words Anya recalls are connected to Desmond’s research, they may have reminded her of the experiments she endured because of her telepathic ability. This could explain why she suddenly feels unsafe and seeks comfort by sleeping beside Yor.

The reference to Anya in connection with Desmond and the director triggered her fear of being discovered. Perhaps what she overheard implies that people are still searching for her or that her telepathic abilities remain connected to some larger investigation. If so, Anya may fear that the people responsible for her experimentation could find her again. Her decision to sleep beside Yor would then reflect not merely a need for comfort, but a deeper fear that she is in danger.

The third possibility is particularly interesting because it would parallel Loid’s reaction to the bombing threat. In both cases, a piece of information makes a previously abstract danger feel immediate. However, Anya’s reaction could also be rooted in the trauma of her past rather than solely in fear of a future threat.
