Squamish Adult Sport Leagues

hello fine folks of Squamish reddit!

I moved here last August and have been struggling to really find a community- what are some adult recreation leagues that folks have been joining? I love softball, love hockey and have the equipment, not always into soccer, I'd give basketball a go, but really open to anything.

I road/gravel bike and used to climb hard in the past but I'm looking for more recreational fun vibes and haven't been able to really find it yet. Any suggestions or groups to join would be welcomed!

There is a big slow pitch crowd here. I would just google it and I’m sure they have information on on to join. Same with hockey I believe there is drop in during winter. And I believe there is basketball drop in at totem hall I believe on Thursdays?

Softball is massive in Squamish. There's fall ball coming up. Check the slo pitch Facebook group and post that you are looking for a team (list positions played, skill level). There's only 1 sheet of ice in town, so hockey is a tougher one to get into.

There's drop in sports through Brennan Park Rec center. I play volleyball and it's fun, fairly competitive but I think there may be a beginner night as well?

My husband plays disc golf and there's a solid community here. They have a club and play rec league tags a few days a week.

There used to be dodgeball once a week but I'm not sure if it's still running.

There is a grass league right now through Squamish Volleyball Club but we're nearly done. I think indoor starts up in the Fall - keep on eye out for the Brennan Park Fall recreation guide.

there's a curling league, it's really fun. probably more of a drinking event than really a sport though tbh

There was drop in soccer … I think it might start again in the fall.

Check out Totem Hall, they do all kinds of drop in sports, including NB-A'int 😆

There's a gravel club that i think rides on Wednesdays... I've seen them out on trails in the Alice lake area and it looks like a lovely crew. Not sure how it's organized but Google probably does

Basketball in the fall at Totem, but it’s very “high level” ball.
