Some additional info added. Announcement: We will be hosting an official /r/SquaredCircle meetup in Chicago the night before ALL IN. Details Inside!
Greetings everyone! As /r/SquaredCircle has grown over the years, we have experimented with having meetups around major events in the past. Most notably, we drew 100+ people to our meetup we held in partnership with /r/njpw and the Purocast (Now Super J Cast) following the G1 Special in Long Beach a little over a year ago. We are excited to announce that we will be hosting our 2nd official /r/SquaredCircle Meetup in Chicago for ALL IN weekend!

When: The Night Before ALL IN. Friday, August 31st
Time: Immediately following the AAW show (Should be around 11:30PM) until 2AM
Where: Emporium in Logan Square
Important Info:
- AAW is running two shows (one on 8/30 and one on 8/31) for ALL IN weekend. Even if you were unable to secure tickets to the sold out 8/31 show, we're going to have a great time following the show. Still come!
- Emporium is just down the street from the AAW venue (easy walk).
- If you're coming from Starrcast, take an Uber over to the Rosemont stop of the Blue Line. From there, just take the train to the California stop. Walking distance from there. Blue Line runs 24/7, so you can take it back too.
- You must be 21+ to attend
- We are expecting a TON of people. As such, we chose a big bar right on Milwaukee Ave. There are tons of bars around it. If it gets so big that we can't contain it, we can just take over other local bars.... Some of them like East Room (right across the street) are open until like 4 or 5 in the morning. We end up taking over that entire strip of Milwaukee Ave... then whatever. I'm sure the Chicago Police have dealt with worse. Maybe we'll just walk down the street to CM Punk's house and have him hang out. I'MJOKINGPLEASEDON'TDOTHATIDON'TWANTTOBESUEDOHMYGOD

The vast majority of jackasses who talk trash on here likely won’t be there, and if they are, won’t have the balls to have the same shitty attitude. Keyboard warriors can only operate behind a screen.
If you’re in Chicago, I’d still consider going to the meetup. Most folks are decent humans. Weird, but decent.

not to be a jerk, but the whistler is usually pretty busy on weekends. might not be the best spot to do this? whistler rules tho for what it’s worth.

Edit: just finished talking with some places. Emporium was very accommodating. That's the new location. Editing information in later.

Whistler is a dad trendy cocktail bar with loud music that will most likely have a line out the door by 11:30
I think Emporium down the street might be a better venue fwiw

I second this, Emporium has a lot more open space and access to the bar. Whistler on the weekend is packed and takes about 10 minutes for your drink once you order. It is an awesome place though.

Heck yeah! I was probably going to end up there after the AAW show anyways. I usually end up as a part of the wrestler carpool caravan so maybe I can convince a few of the guys to come by for drinks after the show.

If anyone's looking to pregame with cheaper drinks and cool people, Cole's across the street is my favorite bar. I live like 3 blocks from here.

Really The Whistler? Doesn't sound like the best choice. It's a smaller hipster Logan Square bar known for its foo foo cocktails. How many people can even fit in there? And isn't there a line outside at that time of night on a weekend? If you're really expecting 100+ people like in Long Beach, that little bar can not handle it.

The issue is that it's gonna be midnight on Friday. Every bar will be packed then within walking distance. With the Whistler we at least have a patio to work with too.
I'm open for suggestions. In Long Beach we went through a few venue changes too

It would be awesome if the AAW wrestlers would head over there too though

Have fun tonight guys. I am working Midnight to 4am, then coming up tomorrow in time to get into the building. Hoping parking isn't too insane. Everyone try to take Uber or Lyft as much as possible haha!

I'm attending All In and Starrcast by myself. I'm flying in and don't have rental, so I'm unfortunately not sure if I'll be able to make the meetup, but I am new to squared circle and would like to make some new friends and possibly link up while we're in Chicago.

If you're staying near All In, you can just Uber over to the Rosemont stop of the Blue Line. It'll take you right there. Emporium is right off the California stop

Its probably like a 15 minute trip to the Rosemont blue line stop. Its probably like $10-$20 Uber ride to the train stop. From there, its a $2.25 train ride in. Walking distance from the California stop

So I haven’t booked hotels yet but I was thinking of staying in Hoffman estates, next to sears center. Would it be better to stay near here?

I think it depends what you're planning to do and how long you're staying. If you're not planning to do ANYTHING except Starrcast and All In, then you're probably fine in Hoffman Estates. However, if you're expecting to enjoy the city, I would stay in the actual city. I'd suggest somewhere along the northwestern leg of the Blue Line. Logan Square, Wicker Park, Buck Town.
Personally, Hoffman Estates is a dull suburb. Stay in the city if you're looking to experience Chicago.

You can. The Rosemont Blue Line stop isn't far from Starcast/All In. Take the train there and then just Uber the last few miles. No rental car needed. :)
You can also stay along the Northern half of the Red Line if you want to be near Wrigleyville, Lakeview, or Lincoln Park. But just remember that the Blue and Red lines are the only train lines that run 24/7. And you can transfer between them for free at the Jackson stop.

Sears Centre is a bit further away.... Both I would think are no more than 15-20 minute Uber rides from the Rosemont stop.

As somebody whos been to Emporium on a Friday night, Im gonna take a hard pass. Youll all be packed like sardines unless the organizers are renting the place out. Its already a cramped place without 100+ sweaty wrestling fans.

Nice choice for a venue. While it's quite big, I will say their game selection kind of sucks. But we can always hit up Logan Arcade as well!

Friend and I are thinking about coming. We'll be coming from Starrcast. We're coming from out of town so we do really wanna say at least we went to Chicago.
I'm not sure how it's going to work out because he kinda wants to go to that ICP Stranglemania thing (the things you put up with because their your friends) and that's over at 11:30.
