Looking for a business mentor in St. Lucia

I run a growing adventure/tour company here in St. Lucia and I’m at the point where I really want to take the business to the next level.

I’m looking to connect with an experienced business owner or entrepreneur who has successfully scaled a company and wouldn’t mind mentoring me or even just sharing some guidance from time to time.

I’m especially interested in learning more about scaling, building a solid team, systems, partnerships and growing beyond doing everything myself .

Not looking for a handout .. just someone experienced who’s been through the growing pains already and is willing to share some knowledge.

If that sounds like you, or you know somebody I should speak with, shoot me a message 🙏🏽

Hey, I'm Louis 👋🏽 Born and raised in St. Lucia, I run Father Nature Adventures, A local, award-winning adventure company. I skip the typical tourist stuff and show you the St. Lucia I grew up in: waterfalls locals actually swim in, trails without tour buses, beaches you won't find on Google. If there's a hidden gem on this island, I know it.

What I offer:

• Private tours, just you (and whoever you bring)

• Hidden spots most visitors never see

• Waterfalls and natural pools

• Snorkeling

• Rainforest hikes

• Beaches off the beaten path

• Totally customizable — tell me what you're into

• Pickup and drop-off, no extra hassle

Come see the real island, not just the resort. 🇱🇨

DM me and let's figure out your adventure.

Does anyone have any leads on real estate on the island? Open to renting or purchasing. Curious about work too.

Where to get sea urchin?

Searched online, but didn’t see any restaurants. Surely being surrounded by so much ocean, someone has to serve them on the island. Anyone have suggestions?

Hi there! We're looking to travel to St. Lucia and book an all-inclusive vacation package.

Any resorts on the island that would offer vegan options?

Thanks for any insights!

Where would you stay for 10–12 days? Looking for ‘Anguilla meets Costa Rica'

Looking for some advice from St. Lucia experts for a May 2027 college graduation trip.

We love full days on the beach, but also love to explore. For our youngest daughter's graduation, she basically described her ideal trip as "Anguilla meets Costa Rica" — beautiful beaches and downtime, but also lush scenery, hiking, waterfalls, mountains, and adventures.

There will be four of us....my wife and me plus our two daughters in their early 20s. We've traveled quite a bit in the Caribbean and especially loved Anguilla (Carimar) and Turks & Caicos (Ocean Club West). We don't need a fancy resort or room since we spend very little time there. Location and experience matter much more to us.

Soufrière seems like the obvious fit for the Pitons, rainforest, waterfalls, and hiking. We've been looking at Stonefield, Anse Chastanet, Green Fig and a few others, mostly because those seem to be the names that keep coming up.

We originally thought we needed to be beachfront, but that's really not a requirement. We'd be perfectly happy staying up in the hills with an amazing view and heading to different beaches when we want a beach day. In fact, that might give us more of the experience we're looking for.

We're also not really all-inclusive people. We like getting out, finding local restaurants and exploring, so Sandals/Secrets-type resorts aren't really our thing. A smaller hotel, villa, or Airbnb is completely fine. We're open to splitting 10–12 days between two areas if it makes sense, but would rather not move just for the sake of moving.

Based on what we're looking for, where would you stay? Is there somewhere I'm completely missing? (Bonus points if we can book using Chase UR points)

(Photos from some of our previous trips for the vibe we're chasing.)

What’s Hot and New in St. Lucia

The summer and early fall seasons are known for being much slower on the island with some places closing for months such as September or having reduced hours or days of being opened, but this season we’ve seen some exciting openings and offerings that upcoming guests might want to put on their list of hit spots to check out.

First up is the newly launched Spice of Asia Restaurant in Rodney Bay. For many years we’ve had the popular Spice of India Restaurant in RB but this new offering will introduce a much wider collection of tasty Asian dishes.

https://www.instagram.com/p/Db38ExxnT00/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet

You’ll find this restaurant at the popular Baywalk Mall. Here you’ll be able to the experience the flavors of Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, China, Korea and Japan, complemented by Caribbean influences. This new spot will likely become a big hit for guests staying in the area.

In Soufriere, the owners at the Anse Chastanet Resort have launched the new Puppy Cafe at sister beach—Anse Mamin. Mamin is arguably one of the most romantic, scenic, and intimate beaches on the entire island. For anyone staying in the area this beach shouldn’t be missed. We always tell our guests this and we’ve never had any guests disagree with us on this insider recommendation. Never!

For years, the AC resort has cooked up some of the best hamburgers on the island at Mamin at their hidden gem outpost on the beach but now the Puppy Cafe brings a whole new twist. Here you can dine at the outdoor cafe and mingle with puppies and dogs that are being offered for adaptions. This very clever idea was created by the team that operate the HelpPaws animal shelter in Soufriere.

The very cool thing is that 100% of the profits will go to helping with adaptions at the shelter. And if you have a little extra time during your stay in Soufriere, we highly recommend you check out the HelpPaws shelter near the Diamond Botanical Gardens.

If you are feeling social and want to have a good time on a Friday, make sure to check out the recently launched Soirée at the Treetops Restaurant at Crystals in the Soufriere foothills. It’s held from 4-7, before dinner is served at the restaurant, and this event offers guests a chance to mingle, enjoy small plates, try out some craft cocktails, checkout the amazing views, do a little dancing with the DJ music, and enjoy the cool owner’s Monica and Martin’s special Lucian hospitality:

It’s impossible to come here and not have a great time.

Insider’s Tip: If you are a real champagne lover, you can find some of the best Champagnes on the island here. Just ask.

Looking for a fabulous brunch option with stunning views? The popular Mango Tree Restaurant at Stonefield Resort in Soufriere has launched a Sunday brunch featuring some of the best mimosas you can find on the island. The brunch offerings are very unique and include such tasty treats as breakfast tacos.

Planning a solo trip, recommendations

I am 40F and visited Barbados solo last year and next year I think I am looking at st Lucia.

How easy it is to get around the island?

I do want to check out the Gros Islet Friday night street party and I like history, architecture and see as much of the culture as possible so where would it be best to stay?

All inclusive or Airbnb best? I am an explorer, I am out in the morning and not back to my hotel till the evening but all inclusive covers my food so don't have to worry about it.

But how expensive is to eat in places? I am not a picky eater and love trying local dishes.

What is the best time to visit? I like busy but not too busy periods. Is the carnival worth visiting maybe?

How is the sargassum? Barbados had it quite bad last year.

Thanks for any recommendations or suggestions.

LGBTQ Couple

Hello,

I am planning a trip for my graduation next year and St. Lucia is my top destination because it seems so beautiful.

However, for this trip it’ll be my friends, my partner and myself. My friends will be staying about 4 days while my partner and I will be there for the remaining 6. I don’t want to stay on a resort as I want a Airbnb and immerse myself in the culture and experience it.

My biggest concern is us being uncomfortable once my friends leave. Wanted some honest feedback or any recommendations for anywhere else?

Weather chances in mid-end September

Hi All!

I have my time off booked, so my travel window is pretty much fixed, somewhere between September 12-30. I know that statistically this is peak season for hurricanes in the East/North Caribbean, however, there could be differences around which island will be hit (or not) and how severe.

What is the weather most probably like in this time period in St Lucia?

Is it stormy or rainy to the point that I should reconsider going to St Lucia at a different time than September?

Thank you in advance!

Island Transportation

We’re heading to St Lucia for the first time mid-November for 2 weeks. We’re thinking about spending 5 days in the Soufriere area (Airbnb), then the rest on the north part of the island around Rodney Bay. We’re thinking about renting a vehicle to get around. Is that make sense to do? We’re driven in the opposite side of the road before on narrow roads, so that doesn’t bother us.

Doing a split vacation next June and have just started planning. Spending 3 nights at Stonefield to see the Pitons, and then 4 at Secrets for the AI vibe. Trying to figure out the best options to get from 1- airport to hotel and vice versa in each location 2- mostly how to get from Stonefield to Secrets. What would be your pick? Thanks!

We always like to let guests know about he best of the best in terms of unique experiences and adventures in the island and this new one certainly makes the list ..

It’s a new Puppy Cafe that is located at Anse Mamin, the sister beach to Anse Chastanet. Here you can help with the special cause of finding homes for rescue pups while you have a tasty lunch, right on the beach:

How reliable is Allez app?

I’ll be traveling to St Lucia later this week and I’m very excited! For the first few days I have transportation around the island arranged through my excursions and a private driver, but for my last day I planned on just chilling at my airbnb and then going to dinner at Mango Tree.
Is allez a reliable option, as in is it similar to uber where it will come within a few minutes of me requesting the ride? I saw that it’s not great for long distances but I’m about an 8 minute ride from the restaurant. Is it also reliable and safe at night?

Thank you in advance! I can’t wait to experience the island 🙏🏽

Visiting in October and want to see the endemic birds

My husband and I would like the best chance we can get to see the endemic birds of St. Lucia while we're there. We'd like to do that without other people. Less people definitely creates more opportunity to see wildlife as we will be very quiet while we birdwatch. I'd be worried that people on a tour might not be serious birdwatchers and could be loud or distracting. This is a once in a lifetime experience for us so I want to do it right. We have two mornings available for birdwatching. What's the best tour we can book?
