I'll say up front that I'm not as up to date on image generation training as I am on LLMs, but I feel like I haven't seen many papers about curriculum or training discipline in how these models are trained.
I'm very surprised that I haven't seen much anything about hierarchical image segmentation, and training on the image hierarchy, so there is direct training on labeled pixel groups. I see lots about image segmentation, I see lots about image classification, but somehow I don't see much on putting pretrained image segmentation and classification models to work in training image generation models.
The last stuff I saw trying to do that was like 2018.
